Three individuals from Utah are expected in court to answer for charged with sexual assault and drug possession. The suspects were arrested in late 2016 after a 9-year-old child claims that they’ve raped her while her mother was off smoking meth with a friend in the garage.
Meth Mom to Face Child Abuse Charges
At the beginning of this week, 31-year-old Jerry, his 28-year-old brother, Randall, and Larson RonDeau, 38, will appear before a Utah court to answer for rape charges.
According to court documents, in March 2016, a Utah mother, acquainted with the suspects, organized at Easter-egg hunt at her home for her 9-year-old daughter. The woman invited the suspects and another individual.
While the woman fled to the garage to smoke meth with one of the party guests, RonDeau and the Flatlip brothers dragged the 9-year-old child inside the house and gang-raped her.
Based on the child’s testimony, after the three Utah men sexually assaulted her, they’ve ordered her to keep quiet. Otherwise, they will kill her and the woman.
The prosecution declared that the child was so afraid for her life that it took her nearly two days to tell her mother what happened during the Easter-egg.
Soon after that, all three suspects and the girl’s mother were taken into custody. The child, whose identity will not be revealed for her own protection, has been returned to her Native American tribe.
Meanwhile, all three suspects were indicted on rape charges. As for the mother, the authorities charged the woman with misdemeanor child abuse and consuming drugs.
Conclusion
One week before the men’s trial began, the woman was sentenced to serve time in prison and to check herself into a rehabilitation clinic.
The trial might prove to be problematic for the prosecution, as the defense attorney reveals that there’s no physical evidence to suggest that the child was raped.
