The Nexus 6 will come with a smooth black design similar to the Nexus 5. Motorola will place the front camera on the right side of the bezel and volume control on the right edge of the device. However, the rear camera lens would be located at the back just above the Motorola logo.

Nexus

On the flip side, Samsung will probably offer a premium finish to this new smartphone. The company has added a ring of metal around the corners of the device. The camera also offers the option of Optical image stabilization that makes certain that you get excellent images result. The device will run on Android Kitkat 4.4.4 and will be powered 2.7 Quad core Snapdragon Qualcomm processor. Moreover, the device will contain a 3220 mAh battery.

As we have already mentioned above that Google Nexus 6 will run on Android L. The software is not yet released therefore this news indicates that the company will definitely launch this device after the launch of Android L.

Release Date:

Samsung has announced that after two weeks its new flagship Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will touch the shelves of the markets. Some of the retailers such as AT&T have started accepting the pre-orders of the device.  In simple words, people can get hold of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 just after two weeks.

On the other hand, rumors suggest that the company will release the new flagship sometime in the month of October.  It is expected that the company will organize a special launch event in which it will unveil some of its upcoming devices. Unlocked iPhone 6 on T-Mobile: Only Available Through Apple Store to Buy

October 6, 2014 By Karen Jackson 1 Comment

Most of the T-Mobile customers who have purchased the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus through the carrier have claimed that the handset comes locked to the carrier. If you really want to purchase unlocked T-Mobile iPhone 6, you can get it right through the Apple Store.

Through Apple, the T-Mobile iPhone 6 does not come with any kind of carrier subsidy. Apple is selling three storage variants for T-Mobile customers. The 16GB, 64GB and 128GB editions of iPhone 6 are priced at $649, $749 and $849, respectively.

t-mobile-logo

If T-Mobile customers purchase the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus through Apple, they won’t be able to benefit from different plans from T-Mobile, trade-in deals and other perks. The only major advantage that you get by purchasing the handset through Apple is you can own an unlocked T-Mobile iPhone 6 Plus or iPhone 6.

Many T-Mobile customers have complained that they are unable to use SIM cards from other carriers on their T-Mobile iPhone 6s. It has been found that most people who have complained this way are the ones who have purchased the iPhone 6 through T-Mobile and not through Apple. Hence, their handsets do not allow them to switch to another carrier SIM card.

T-Mobile certainly obvious reasons to make people use their networks on the iPhone 6 models purchased from them rather than using different service provider. T-Mobile has a policy for unlocking their device. It requires the buyers to contact them after 40 days of purchasing the handset through them and ask for an unlock code.

iPhone6-Press-01-578-80

Like T-Mobile, other carriers also provide iPhone 6s withunlock code. AT&T’s iPhone 6 is available with a lock period of 60 days. This is valid whether you buy the iPhone  6 from Apple or AT&T.  If the customer has good standing and has cleared the entire payment amount, AT&T will hand over the unlocked code to him.

If you have fully paid for the iPhone 6 an if you are not a part of promotional deal like Early Termination Fee in order to use another carrier service, T-Mobile will provide you with an unlock code.

Let us explain what the confusion is all about. Like any other service provider, even T-Mobile is selling the iPhone 6 handset at reduced price provided that the customers signup with them for a two-year contract. However, T-Mobile has a different strategy onboard. It wants to end the two-year contract bond by offering the handset with easy to pay monthly fees.

In order to get unlocked handsets, many customers opt to purchase the handsets through renowned outlets like Apple and Google. They think that by paying full amount to them would certainly allow them to lay hands on the unlocked device but this is not always true.

iphone1c-970

T-Mobile has some of the amazing plans onboard. However, we suggest that if you want to purchase an iPhone 6 through T-Mobile and later switch to another network, we suggest you to purchase the iPhone 6 through Apple.

After purchasing the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus from T-Mobile, you can unlock the device by calling 611 once you have cleared the 40 day point. You can also do the same by visiting a T-Mobile store. If in case you are in situation that does not allow you to wait until 40 days to unlock your handset and you wish to unlock as soon as possible, the only option left with you is to return the iPhone 6 to T-Mobile and purchase a new iPhone 6 from Apple

In the US, most users do not think about unlocking their devices. One of the major reasons is that unlike other regions of the world, there are not many carrier choices available because of which customers end up sticking to one carrier for longer durations. If you wish to save money through different pre-paid carriers, the most suitable option available to you would be to get an unlocked T-Mobile iPhone 6 from Apple.

Galaxy Note 4 vs Galaxy Note Edge – Release Date and Price Comparison

October 6, 2014 By Karen Jackson 2 Comments

Samsung had announced the arrival of Galaxy Note 4 as well as Galaxy Note Edge on September 3. On the same day, Samsung had also announced two amazing products, the Gear S smartwatch and Galaxy VR headset.

When both the flagship smartphones were announced, Samsung did not speak a word on the release date for both the devices. Certainly they had a game plan in hand since the rival handsets, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 had not been unveiled yet at that time.

Samsung_Galaxy_Note_4_Note_Edge_General_2
Apple announced the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus on September 9 and quickly started with the preorders on September 12. Meanwhile, Samsung reacted to the launch of the new 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus phablet by saying that Apple has been quite slow in launching a phablet while they have excelled in this category since 2011.

The new iPhone 6 units started shipping to its customers on September 19 while Samsung waited little more and finally released the Galaxy Note 4 in South Korea, the home country.

The Samsung Galaxy Edge is not a mainstream smartphone from the South Korean tech giant but a concept phone. It is a Galaxy Note 4 variant but comes with a curved display screen.

Galaxy Note 4 Global Release

Quite quickly after the announcement of Galaxy Note 4, rumors about Galaxy Note 4 release date started swirling. In the US, the Galaxy Note is expected to release on October 17. Within a month’s time, it is expected to hit bigger markets like the UK, China, Australia, Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, Russia and New Zealand.

The Galaxy Note 4 is available in two CPU variants, Exynos and Snapdragon 805 edition. The Exynos 5433 Galaxy Note 4 is aimed to toward certain markets such as Asian and European markets. The Snapdragon 805 Galaxy Note 4 will be made available globally.

All in all, the Samsun Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be available in 140 countries across the globe. The Galaxy Note 4 will come out in almost all markets before the Galaxy Note Edge arrives.

Galaxy Note Edge Limited Release

Since the Galaxy Note Edge is a concept phone, Samsung has no plans to build huge number of Note Edge units and there won’t be a widespread release for the phablet with curved display screen.

The famous leakster for Samsung smartphones, SamMobile has revealed that Samsung plans to manufacture only one million units by this year. The limited edition Galaxy Note Edge is expected to come to countries like the US, UK, South Korea, Japan, China and Canada.

If you are not based in any of these countries and still can’t wait to avail a Note Edge, the only option to get it early is to import it from another country. For all countries, the Galaxy Note Edge release date continues to remain a mystery.

samsung-galaxy-note-42

Even though the Galaxy Note Edge release date has not been officially announced, it does not mean that the release date is far away. However, it is quite confirmed that Galaxy Note Edge will arrive after the Galaxy Note 4 hits most markets.

In South Korea, the Galaxy Note Edge is expected to come out by the end of this month. Even in Japan, NTT Docomo, the famous Japanese cellular carrier is expected to launch a Note Edge by late October. The carrier is also to launch another model by the coming month. The major markets that are surely going to release the Galaxy Note Edge are the US, South Korea, China and Japan.

The Galaxy Note 4 will release in the UK and Canada within this month. However, the Note Edge is not poised to come to these markets within the same release date period. A news report coming from Canada claims that the curved display phablet will arrive in the coming year.

Galaxy Note 4 Preorders and Price

The Galaxy Note 4 preorders have started in major countries like the US and the UK. As expected, the four major US carriers like AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon have already started with the preorders. With AT&T, the Galaxy Note is available at an on-contract price of $300. Without contract, the AT&T Galaxy Note 4 is priced at $826.

samsung-galaxy-note-4

Sprint started the Galaxy Note 4 preorders with a heavier on-contract price of $350. Soon it had to reduce the price and now it is charging $300 on-contract price. With T-Mobile, the off-contract price of Note 4 is $750. The T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 can be purchased by paying $31.24 for 24 months without any down payment.

Verizon too is offering the Galaxy Note 4 with a n on-contract price of $300. Without contract, Verizon is selling the Galaxy Note 4 for $700 which is quite cheaper than off-contract deals from AT&T and Sprint.

Galaxy Note Edge Preorders and Price

If you thought the Galaxy Note 4 is expensive, the Galaxy Note Edge is going to come out with costlier price tag. Since, the off-contract price of Galaxy Note 4 is crossing over $800, it is quite evident that the Note Edge will hit the shelves with absurd prices.

The Galaxy Note Edge which is being referred to as limited edition and concept phone is not going to be a cheap phone at all. No handset other than the Galaxy Note Edge features a curved display on its edge. The edge screen will give you a quick glance towards the notifications, network strength and battery life.

The Galaxy Note also features a high resolution 5.6-inch Super AMOLED screen that supports 1600 x 2560 pixels. It packs in the trademark S-Pen stylus, 3 GB RAM, Snapdragon 805 processor and long lasting 3100mAh battery. With such high-end specs and features onboard, the Galaxy Note Edge will hit the stands at an expensive price.

We will have to wait little more for concrete details on the Galaxy Note Edge release date for different countries to get revealed officially. Until then we will keep you updated on the latest rumors on Galaxy Note 4.

Nexus 6 Release Date

The Nexus 5 was announced by Google on Oct 31 2013. The handset was made at the stores in November 2013. The Nexus 6 release date is expected around the same time in this year.

Nexus 6 Price

In 2013, two variants of Nexus 5 were launched. One came with 16 GB storage and the other one came with 32 GB storage. Compared to Nexus 4, there was a slight increment in the price. Nexus 5 with 16 GB storage was priced at $349 and the one with 32 GB storage was priced at $399.

As far as Nexus 6 is concerned, there can be two storage options this year, 32 GB and 64 GB. The former is rumored to come with a price tag of $399 and the latter is expected to be available for $499

Nexus 6 Operating System

Nexus fans and the tech world know it very well that Google likes to introduce its next Android iteration through Nexus devices. Last year’s Nexus 5 came with the Android KitKat OS. So, it is heavily expected that the Nexus 6 will come with a new Android OS version.

Which Company is to Manufacture Nexus 6?

The Nexus 6 is codenamed as Motorola Shamu. Originally, after the success of HTC One and other products, analysts felt that HTC would be manufacturing the Nexus 6. Most rumors indicate that the handset will be manufactured by the South Korean tech giant, LG.

Recently, it was reported that LG and Google together on future Nexus products. Still, it is quite strange to know that design of the Nexus 6 is quite similar to Moto X. So, it is still not sure whether Motorola or LG will be manufacturing the next Nexus smartphone.

Nexus 6 Specifications

Design

The Nexus 5 sported a design which is quite similar to LG G2. In the way, analysts feel that the Nexus 6 would also look like the LG G3 smartphone.

The Nexus 6 would be sporting a rectangular body with curved corners. The sides will be flanked with thin bezels whereas on the top and bottom, it will be sporting larger bezels. The device is also expected to feature a metal band around the edges of the handset.

The cutout at the top and bottom area of one of the leaked images of Nexus 6 indicates that handset may feature dual speakers. If this comes true, music lovers will be truly excited about this feature on Nexus 6.

Another source indicates that like Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the Nexus 6 is expected to feature fingerprint sensor.

What about the chassis of Nexus 6? Motorola has received Kevlar coating for waterproofing. The build quality of the Nexus products has been good. So, we can expect the Nexus 6 to be resistant to dust and water along with durable build quality.

Display

The Nexus 6 is rumored to feature a 5.9-inch display screen. It is expected to support quad HD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The pixel density is not known yet.

Processor, RAM and Internal Storage

The Nexus 6 will be featuring a Snapdragon 805 SoC with a quad-core processor working at 2.7 GHz. It will be accompanied by Adreno 420 graphics. Apple is the only smartphone manufacturer that is making use of 64-bit processor. The Nexus 6 is expected to feature a 64-bit processor.

Nexus 6

The handset is also expected to come with 3 GB RAM. The internal storage choices with Nexus 6 are 32GB and 64GB.

Camera, Software and Battery

The Google Nexus 6 will be featuring a 13 MP camera at the rear side of the device. It may come with Optical Image Stabilization to compete with the likes of iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that also come with OIS feature. The rear camera is also rumored to feature ring flash like the one present on Moto X.

The front-facing camera of Nexus 6 will be of 2.1MP. Since most of the smartphones in the recent times are coming with good quality front-facing for snapping selfies, even the Nexus 6 is expected to feature selfie-centric camera.

android L

As of now, the name of the Android OS that will come preloaded on Nexus 6 is not known. The rumor mill heavily indicates that handset will come preloaded with Android 5.0 which is being referred to as Android L.. The correct name of the next Android OS is not known yet. Some are referring it to as Lollipop while there are other rumors that claim the name of the next Android OS would be Lemon Meringue Pie.

One of the major issues that plague smartphones is the battery life. The Nexus 5 that came out last year was criticized heavily for consuming a lot of battery juice.

If the Nexus 6 is going to feature a quad HD display and Snapdragon 805 processor, it has to offer large battery. Rumors have it that the Nexus 6 will be packed with an enormous battery to not only address last year’s Nexus 5 issue but also to handle the high-end specs of Nexus 6.

Scientists unveiled the secret of “man in the moon”

October 2, 2014 By Karen Jackson Leave a Comment

Recently,  the Grail data unveiled that the famous “man in the moon” occurred due to volcanic plume instead of an asteroid impact.

Scientist created a map of the Procellarum and learned it has a polygonal shape rather than circular. Generally, the polygonal shape consists of sharp angles which are really difficult to form through a large asteroid.

Therefore, researchers believe that the angular shape occurred because of some massive cracks in the crust of the moon.

Maria Zuber, MIT’s vice president stated that they specially designed a “plumbing system”  in the crust  of the moon. The main purpose of this “plumbing system” is to pass the magma to the lunar surface. These magma joined together and formed the dark spot on the moon.

Furthermore, Zuber stated that not many of us noticed these trivial things such as the causes behind these patterns of the moon, how these spots occurred etc.

The report is explained in detail in the Journal Nature

A Set of Swarmies – NASA’s Latest Exploration Robots.

September 30, 2014 By Karen Jackson Leave a Comment

NASA has established its first Swarmie group of robots which are quite similar to the accessory of children. People are unable to regard it  as a powerful exploration robot since it is rather small and full of colors.
It is the most smaller NASA’s exploration searchers up till now. It has nothing similar to any complicated scientific tool other than a Wi-Fi antenna, a GPS system and a webcam. Every Swarmie is linked with the other through a specialized software which was developed at the Kennedy Space Center. A scientist can guide the Swarmies to expand all over the surface in order to look for a particular material.  If any Swarmie discover something it can immediately send signal through radio communications to other robots. It is a kind of indication for other Swarmies to begin  a larger search.

Undoubtedly, they work like wheeled robotic ants.

Kurt Leucht, an engineer of this project stated that earlier people were believed that casting as much smarts and capabilities in one robot is very utilitarian. Now they understand that they can form a set of smaller robots that can function like a team and accomplish a task. Even if one of them turn over and die then there are others which can complete the mission.

Presently, the Swarmies are in their emerging phase since engineers are trying them in the parking lots of Kennedy’s Launch Control Center. In that parking lot their aim is to hunt for barcode-labeled papers. Once they accomplish this stage, then the engineers will present RASSOR. RASSOR  is a mining robot specially planned to explore alien planets for scientifically valuable materials.
