According to court documents, the events that would ultimately lead to the discovery of Sophie Lionnet’s charred body in the couple’s south London began to unfold years before Kouider married Medouni.
The 35-year-old woman had a torrid affair with Mark Walton, the founding member of a British boy band and a very popular pop singer. In court, Walton said he was compelled to put an end to his two-year affair with Kouider as the woman was very angry and violent.
Although Walton moved on, Kouider would never let go of her obsession for Walton. After marrying Medouni, a London banker, Kouider tended to her fashion designed and forgot about Walton.
Several years later, Kouider gave birth to a boy. Because neither she nor Medouni had the luxury of staying at home to take care of the child, they’ve decided to hire Sophie Lionnet.
Things looked like they were on the mend until Kouider began to suspect that her French nanny of having an affair with her former boyfriend. Her paranoia was so deep-rooted that Kouider even convinced her husband that their French nanny was having sex with Walton.
In September 2017, Medouni and Kouider assaulted Lionnet in an attempt to make her confess. The investigation revealed that before she died, the French nanny had been beaten with an electrical cord and submerged in bathtub water.
After killing Lionnet, the British couple threw her corpse in a bonfire.
