HTC Teases the Public with the Power of 10

February 25, 2016 By Roxanne Briean Leave a Comment

The HTC One M10 is coming

Anyone who has subscribed to the newsletter of HTC has probably been a little surprised yesterday morning when their inbox was graced by a mysterious teaser sent by the Taiwanese manufacturer. And just few hours later, a short and ambiguous tweet featuring the same image and tagged as #Powerof10 became the pinned post of the official HTC Twitter account.

As you may have already figured out yourself, there’s only one thing that this can mean. The HTC One M10 is coming. And because the Mobile World Congress 2016 was not the event to showcase the upcoming flagship coming from HTC, the press event scheduled to take place on April 11th in London will most likely be the moment of unveiling in the true sense of the word.

It was a little surprising to see that HTC chose to only showcase the Desire series at MWC 2016. While all the other manufacturers were quick on their feet to present their latest endeavors such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5, HTC bid its time to give us this snippet of what suggests to be a shadowed outline of the next HTC One smartphone.

While there’s no telling if any other details regarding the HTC One M10 will make their way out of confidential confines and to the public until the press event in April, there are various rumors suggesting the juicy details of the next flagship of the company. Those include a 12 MP Sony IMX377 camera, featuring 1.55um lens, phase detection auto focus and a laser autofocus, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor that was showcased at CES 2016, 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB inbuilt storage options. Not to mention that it will come with pre-loaded Android 6.0.1 Marhsmallow – or a later iteration if it, depending on what is the final release date that HTC decides on.

The HTC One M10 is believed to be the rumored project Perfume that piqued the interest of fans all over the world back when it was first leaked. And now that we have an apparently innocent teaser image to work with, there’s a little more we can deduce from what we’ve got so far.

The image behind what is most probably going to be the slogan of the HTC One M10 – #Powerof10 – appears to look a lot like the edge of a phone. If you look closely, you can almost tell it’s metallic in build and chamfered around the edges. If we’re to observe closely, the edges appear to be in relief and a lot sharper than we’ve seen on a huge number of phones so far.

HTC One Max Fingerprint Bug Makes Shares Go Down

August 11, 2015 By Kenneth Scott Leave a Comment

HTC One Max Fingerprint Bug Makes Shares Go Down

After security firm FireEye Labs revealed that HTC One Max and Samsung S5 don’t store fingerprint data in an encrypted image format, the news created quite a stir among the users of the HTC phone that is almost two years old.

According to FireEye, HTC acted immediately and fixed the vulnerable spot. It appears the fingerprints read by the phone were being kept in an world readable file, which means it could’ve easily been accessed by any app on the device. With so may malicious app floating around, that is as bad as it sounds.

The flaw was fixed immediately, and HTC insisted to add the bug was removed from all regions.

HTC One Max Fingerprint Bug Makes Shares Go Down

HTC One Max used to store the users’ fingerprints in a bitmap file. FireEye didn’t have any issue reconstructing the specialized file into a scan of the fingerprint. What is more, the HTC phone updated this image each time a new scan was submitted, which means a potential hacker could have obtained various file images without lifting a finger.

Not only HTC One Max is under the close scrutiny of FireEye. According to the security firm, the same flaw could exist in Samsung’s Galaxy S5 and a few others that haven’t been named yet.

Although HTC One Max was never particularly popular, it’s still uncertain if the bug was detected by any malicious app and used in mischievous acts. FireEyes’ discovery left many concerned for their security. It’s one thing to have your password leaked and another to have your fingerprints in the hands of hackers.

HTC One Max Fingerprint Bug Makes Shares Go Down

As a consequence, users are encouraged to choose smartphones that have an updated security patch available. Also, the classic “stay away from unreliable sources” still applies and may keep you away from malicious apps in the long run.

How bad is this for HTC? Their stocks have recently sunk very low, which translates into anyone being able to buy all their shares for less than the cash they are currently holding. Need another translation? As investors would put it, HTC is now essentially worthless.

HTC was never a leader on the smartphone market, although they deliver some sturdy, reliable Android phones. So how did they get knee deep in trouble? A quick glance at the numbers tells us that HTC is running at a loss, unable to sell phones for more than they pay to make them. That can’t be good for business.

With Androids getting cheaper and cheaper, the forecast for HTC doesn’t look too sunny. And alongside fierce competitors like Samsung and Motorla, HTC might not come out of the fighting pit alive.

HTC Grip Fitness Band Has Been Delayed

July 17, 2015 By Deborah Campbell Leave a Comment

HTC Grip fitness band

The HTC Grip fitness band was supposed to be released this Spring. Do you remember their fitness band being showcased earlier this year in Barcelona? Well, forget it, because although the company is still planning on releasing their fitness band, it’s going to be quite different.

HTC just confirmed that after an “extensive wear testing and user feedback.”, they have decided to push it a little bit further in 2015. A spokesperson for HTC noted that the company has – “[…] decided to align Grip with the entire product portfolio for health and fitness launching later this year.”

HTC Grip fitness band

The exact HTC Grip fitness band model that we saw earlier this year in Barcelona will most likely be better, performance wise, and rumors have it that the company will still be shipping their product with their initial design.

The HTC Grip fitness band is being developed in partnership with Under Armour.

2015 has been an extraordinarily year for HTC. The company is tackling markets outside of their traditional medium – smartphones. Earlier this year, HTC announced their partnership with Steam, and their plans to build a virtual reality system. Also, they have plans in to develope home lifestyle products.

HTC Grip fitness band

Their new fitness product-line might bring in some sweet revenue to the company.

The HTC Grip fitness band was supposed to cost $199, and it held a close resemblance with Nike’s Fuelband – although, it wasn’t equipped with a built-in heart sensor, and monitor, but the company promised that Grip will come with an in-built GPS-system. We don’t know if HTC will change the price, or it will remain the same.

HTC Grip fitness band

Maybe HTC has finally realized that not featuring a heart sensor, and monitor is a deal-breaker to the majority of fitness band users. At the current moment we don’t know anything more, and hopefully, the Grip fitness band that we saw being showcased in Barcelona won’t be that much redesigned.

Here’s the official HTC statement:

Through our partnership with Under Armour, we have continued to refine our vision and approach to the health and fitness category. Our goal is to offer best-in-class products for our customers and partners. After extensive wear testing and user feedback, we have decided to align GRIP with the entire product portfolio for health and fitness launching later this year. This will be a state-of-the-art comprehensive portfolio of products for this category powered by UA RECORD. We are excited to launch this new comprehensive product suite and will share further details as we get closer to launch.

Valve Starts Shipping HTC’s Vive VR Gear to Developers

June 8, 2015 By Kenneth Scott 2 Comments

Valve starts to ship HTC's Vive

Some time ago, we wrote about how Valve has paired with HTC, and they are building a new Virtual Reality headset called Vive, and that they will be shipping their device to a select few developers.

Now, we are happily announcing that Valve has started to ship the VR dev gear, and those of you who were selected – you lucky bastards – should expect a delivery man knocking on your door any day now.

For those of us who haven’t been chosen by the almighty Gaben – me included – the time to meddle with Valve’s VR headset will be later this year. Regular gamers will have the chance of playing with The Vive this Christmas – and it’s going to be one hell of a gift for your geeky loved one.

Valve has confirmed that it has started shipping Vive Developer Edition.

This week, we have started shipping the Vive Developer Editions. This first wave includes a wide range of developers from major movie studios, triple A developers, to small indie teams working on their first title. We will continue to ship to additional developers through the spring and summer.
In the box is a headset, 2 Lighthouse base stations, 2 wireless Steam VR controllers, various cables, instructions, and everything else needed to get started. This will allow developers to target the same system consumers will have in their homes later this year.

If you don’t have the Valve VR gear you can still be an observer. Head down to their community SteamVR Developer Hardware discussion, and take a look at what awesome stuff brilliant minds are coming up with.

Valve Vive Developer Edition

At the moment, we don’t know any information regarding its price, nor its availability – but it’s most likely going to ship worldwide. What we do know is that the SteamVR will have its very own Steam Store page filled with virtual reality games, movies, and apps.

It’s a bold move, and Valve’s alliance with HTC may be fruitful to say the least. There isn’t a king yet, and more and more companies are jumping on the virtual reality bandwagon. Take for example Google, who has recently announced that they will be building a VR gear in collaboration with GoPro. Facebook-owned Oculus Rift will be shipping starting early 2016, and Sony’s Project Morpheus is kept under a tight sealed lid.

Valve and HTC's Vive

I’ll happily buy a virtual reality headset, a couple of months after the internet will be filled with peer reviewed devices. FullDive seems like a nifty, and cheap product – and I’m more inclined on buying it, rather than a $400 device on release day.

What about you? Do you fancy this virtual reality trend? Or do you think it will flop miserably?

HTC One M9 Preview

March 10, 2015 By Roxanne Briean Leave a Comment

HTC One M9 Preview

The first thing you will probably notice about the HTC One M9 is that it looks the same as the previous model. It’s probably because of the fact that HTC knows when they’re doing a great job and don’t wish to change the design too much. In short: If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

But what exactly is new inside the HTC One M9 if the design looks the same, you might ask. Well, there are quite a few changes made to the new smartphone but not all of them are for the better.

Here is our HTC One M9 preview.

The build quality on the HTC One M9 is, as always, great. The new generation smartphone is a tiny bit narrower, fatter and shorter than the previous M8 model. The chassis of the new mobile phone is great. It’s very fast and we didn’t face any problems with the HTC smartphone, even though it uses the same Snapdragon 810 chip found in LG’s G Flex2 (but to be fair, we haven’t encountered any serious issues with LG’s mobile phone, either). The device performs really well, mostly because it has 3GB of RAM which made browsing the web and switching between apps a walk in the park.

An annoyance regarding its design is the metal lip running around the phone’s edge. This was put there by HTC to help you get a better grip of the device. It’s nice that HTC actually listened to the feedback from its customers but the metal lip can feel awkward at times, especially when it sticks into your palm. Small design touches like this one seem very strange and foreign when you’re used to the more comfortable HTC One M8.

These little touches are what the philosophy of the One M9 design is. The company tried to make a more premium smartphone but the M8 was such a good phone that it didn’t need any serious changes. HTC moved the power button under the right edge of the M9 and the volume rocker was split into two buttons. A MicroSD slot can still be found above. The company also made one of the speaker grilles smaller in order to make room for the somewhat bigger front facing camera.

HTC felt there wasn’t much to change in terms of design and we mostly agree with its decision to keep things clean and familiar.

However, there are some changes that we don’t really agree with. One of these changes is the 20MP camera on the back of the M9. The company decided to move the UltraPixel technology on the front facing camera and use a 20MP Sony sensor on the back. Our early tests have shown that the new camera seems a bit worse than the camera found on the previous generation. Color temperature and white balance seem inferior right out of the box. Photos taken with the M8 were a lot better than the ones we took with the new M9. Using the M9 in good lighting conditions proved to work a lot better and we hope that future software updates will fix all the issues with the camera.

Speaking of software, HTC made a lot of changes to the Sense Seven UI. We’ve always enjoyed the Sense user interfaces but it looks like they’re losing momentum seeing how several other phone manufacturers are making their own UIs. The new UI seems to go on uncharted territories for the company but the changes are actually some of the best we’ve seen from HTC.

BlinkFeed is still present and it’s still filled with news from your preferred sources but now it will also analyze your past preferences and location to give you more accurate suggestions. Also, the apps you download go inside a folder called Downloads rather than on your home screen. This is truly a nice touch, seeing how the home screen can get a little messy.

HTC One M9 Customization Features

What’s more important is that now you can customize the themes on your phone. You can customize pretty much everything from the icon sets to the launcher to the wallpaper in order to meet your desires.

HTC offers some themes to choose from directly out of the box but the company wants us to start sharing, making and even selling our own themes to others. When I first heard of this I wasn’t exactly sure how to react, seeing how in the past we saw how tweaking with the design can turn a standard look into an unrecognizable mess. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, just think about MySpace.

But this isn’t the case. If you scramble around tiny parts from the official themes you end up with something that looks pretty bad but not entirely horrible. The best results we’ve had were when we loaded an existing theme and swapped only small things around, such as the icon sets and the keyboard.

The Sense Home widget raises the most important question mark for now. This is a widget that allows you to quickly access the apps it thinks you’re going to need, depending on where you currently are: Out, Work or Home.

There is a folder called Suggestions that highlights apps you may find useful, based on your history of usage. However, HTC didn’t make it clear if it’s going to partner with third parties to offer you suggestions that have been sponsored. If this is the case, the widget may prove to be somewhat useless.

We don’t want to get into too much detail, seeing how we only tested the device for a small period of time and we’ll have to wait until we get our hands on a review unit to make a full HTC One M9 review. Nevertheless, it looks like HTC clearly went for polish instead of progress in this year’s generation of HTC One.

This seems only fair, seeing how we can’t expect companies to completely redesign everything from scratch year after year. The HTC One M9 is a really good smartphone but it’s not all that impressive. I guess only time will tell if these small improvements/differences will mean something to those considering purchasing one.

Android Lollipop Update Schedule

January 24, 2015 By Roxanne Briean Leave a Comment

lollipop-update-schedule

The new Android 5.0 Lollipop is a breath of fresh air and is the biggest Android update at the time. It has a lot of new features that improve the user experience and it features a pretty new design. Every time a new Android comes out, the supported devices list changes almost every day. It takes companies some time to analyze the new system and decide how it can be incorporated on their smartphones and their own software. For example, Samsung uses TouchWiz and HTC uses Sense, so they have to test how the new operating system performs with their own systems.

HTC has started to update its HTC One M8 to the new Android Lollipop and the next one to get an update will be the One M7. An Android Lollipop update schedule that was recently leaked shows when other HTC smartphones will get the update to Android Lollipop.

There was a time when HTC sold more smartphones then Samsung but started to decline in profits and market share in the last years. However, when they started to copy Apple’s strategy and began focusing on design and good quality materials with its release in February 2013 of the HTC One M7, things started to look better for the company. The HTC One M7 offered a unibody made of anodized aluminum and had a curved back which made the smartphone feel great and fit comfortably in the user’s hand. The M7 meant HTC’s comeback as it was one of the most popular phones in 2013.

When the M8 was introduced by HTC back in March 2014, it updated the design of the mobile phone but didn’t go too far from the original M7 recipe which made it a huge hit in the smartphone market and in the tech community. A lot of reviews name the M8 one of the best mobile phones available as of now. Now, HTC began updating the device to Android Lollipop and we already had the chance to see the update on the M7 in a leaked video.

If you have another HTC smartphone and were wondering when and if your smartphone will see an Android Lollipop update, recently leaked information reveals a timeline of when HTC plans to release the update on other devices other than the One M7 and One M8.

According to the leaked information, the Butterfly 2, HTC One M8 Eye, HTC One E8 and the Desire Eye will receive an update in February. The HTC One E8, One M8 Eye (both China), HTC One Max, Desire 820u, HTC One M7 Dual-Sim and One M8 Mini will get an update to the Android 5.0 Lollipop in March. The original HTC One Mini, The HTC Desire 610, Desire 510 and Desire 820s are shown on the information to receive an over the air (OTA) update to Lollipop in April or March.

HTC didn’t officially release a schedule for when the company plans to update other devices than the One M7 and One M8 so it’s probably best you don’t put all your hopes into a leaked timeline for the moment.

In Depth Look at the New Nexus 9 – Cases, Covers, Tech Specs and 2015 Rumors

December 18, 2014 By Roxanne Briean 1 Comment

Most people choose to protect their tablet and phones with covers and cases. The proponents of the case and cover for gadgets say that using them will help increase the lifespan of their device and keep them looking good for a longer period of time. The opponents, on the other side, say that a plastic case won’t do much to protect an electronic device and it simply adds weight and bulk to it. On which side do you place yourself?

If you, like us, believe it’s very important for your Nexus 9 tablet to be protected, then this article is for you! Today, we’re going to take a look at the brand-new Nexus 9 tablet, we’re going to discover some Nexus 9 cases and covers and we’re going to give you a few tips and tricks on how to choose a tablet case and cover that will best satisfy your needs.

About Google Nexus

Google Nexus is a line of smartphones, tablets and set-tops boxes that run Android. Google is in charge of the marketing, development, design and support, but the manufacturing is carried out by OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). The current line includes the Nexus 5 smartphone which is made in partnership with LG, the Nexus 6 smartphone (with Motorola Mobility), the Nexus 9 tablet (with HTC) and the Nexus Player (made in partnership with Asus). At first it may seem a bit confusing, the naming of the devices and the fact that the manufacturers keep changing from year to year, but if you are a fan of Google and Android, you won’t be too bothered by this.

Nexus 9 Tech Specs

Google Nexus 9 was released in November 2014. The 8.9-inch tablet is the first tablet from Google to run Android Lollipop and it is available in white, gold and black. So what’s new in Lolllipop? Well, you’ve got interactive lock screen notifications, new apps functions and a brand-new quick setting menu. The whole operating system got boosted and it is definitely superior to the previous OS.

As for the design, the Nexus 9 has rounded corners which makes it really comfortable to hold in your hands, especially in landscape position. What makes it so nice to hold is the fact that the metal frame that wraps around its body is wide enough for your fingers to rest on, without touching the screen and icons.

The tech specs are very impressive, as they should be on a flagship Google device: the Google Nexus 9 has a 2.3 GHz dual-core Denver CPU and a 192-core Kepler DX1 GPU. It’s also got Bluetooth 4.1, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and NFC (Near Field Communication). The Nexus 9 does not include a microSD card expansion slot, which is going to upset many, but Google is putting all their faith in their cloud-based services.

The Google Nexus comes in two internal size models: the 16GB and the 32GB and it has 2GB of RAM. The display boasts 2,048×1,536 pixels and the HTC BoomSound speakers are clear and loud with the perfect amount of bass. The 8MP rear camera takes surprisingly good photos for a tablet camera and the 360-degree Photo Sphere function is pretty cool.

The Google Nexys 9 can be bought directly from Google and the starting price for the 16GB model is $399. The 32GB model will set you back $479 and the 4G LTE 32GB model costs $599.

In conclusion, the Google Nexus 9 tablet is a steady and fine tablet. The first one to run Android Lollipop, it performs very well with many apps open, but unfortunately, not all apps run smooth on this new OS. Also, another big minus for this tablet is the fact that the largest capacity offered is 32GB and you cannot increase that with the help of an SD card, because there is no slot!

How to Choose a Tablet Case and Cover

When choosing a tablet case or cover, you need to keep in mind a lot of things, such as: will it protect my tablet well enough? Is it cool enough or does it offer any additional accessories. The main purpose of a tablet cover and case is to protect your tablet from scratches and shocks. But you’ll want your cover/case to also reflect your personal style and even bring additional accessories, such as a keyboard. All this is irrelevant without a price tag that you can afford, naturally.

A case is hard encasing, where you put your tablet to be protected against shocks, dust and even harsh direct light. The main pros of using a case is that it will indeed prolong the life of your tablet, while keeping it in better shape, but the majority of them will also make your tablet heavier. A case can be made out of many different materials, including plastic or silicone. Silicone ones are very popular and are made to stretch and take the shape of the tablet, protecting the back and the edges. There are plenty of brands and styles to choose from and we’re going to take a look at the most popular ones soon.

A cover, on the other side, is usually soft and will protect against scratches, but not against shocks. Let’s take a look at the three different types of covers and cases and how they can protect your tablet and make it the coolest tablet on the block:

  • A skin will protect your tablet from dirt and scratches. They are available in a plethora of colors and styles, so if you’re the type of person who gets bored easily, then we recommend you get different types of skins for different occasions. A nice Christmas-theme skin would look fabulous during this time of year.
  • A sleeve will offer protection as long as the tablet is paced inside it, but if you want to use your tablet, you need to take it out of it. It’s very handy when travelling and are usually made out of neoprene with soft interiors, such as flannel.
  • A folio will pretty much make your tablet look like a book. It will make it easier to be held, but it will also make your tablet weigh just a little bit more.

Now that you know the basic styles of covers and cases, which one do you need or want?

Cool Nexus 9 Cases and Covers

Whether you’re looking to buy a case or cover for yourself, or plant to give a Nexus 9 case and cover to your friends and family as a Christmas gift, here are the most popular and awesome Nexus 9 cases and covers!

HTC Magic CoverHTC Magic Cover

Our first choice, which should be your first choice to if you can afford it, is the HTC Magic Cover, the only official accessory for the Nexus 9, if you don’t include the keyboard case. We’re saying that it should be your first choice, because it truly is the best cover for your Nexus 9. It’s also quite expensive, $39.99.

The HTC Magic Cover is actually a magnetic attachment cover that can be put on both the front and the back of the tablet. The cover can fold into two standing positions, low for typing and upright for viewing.  With the help of the HTC Magic Cover, you’ve got automatic screen sleep and wakeup when the cover is removed. Another cool trick that this case is able to perform is that the camera app is launched when the flap folds away. The only other downside of this cover, aside from the steep price is that it is only available in four colors: Mint Indigo Green, Black, Coral and Limestone.

Poetic Revolution Nexus 9 CasePoetic Revolution Nexus 9 Case

This case from Poetic is part of their revolution series. The hardshell of this Case will protect your Nexus 9 tablet from pretty much all the elements, as it makes your Nexus 9 water resistant and dustproof. The TPU skin will help absorb shocks and prevent the tablet from scratching. Because the case will make your tablet water resistant, all the ports are sealed and it comes with a built-in screen protector. It comes in four basic colors: Black, White, Red and Blue. The Poetic Revolution Nexus 9 Case is available on Amazon for $14.95!

CeoCase Nexus 9 SleeveCeoCase Nexus 9 Case

Kayscase TPU CoverKayscase TPU Cover

The Kayscase TPU Cover is made from, as the name implies, TPU material and it features a minimalistic design, which doesn’t keep it from protecting your Nexus 9 tablet. While this particular cover is made for the Nexus 7, the fact that the material is made from is very soft and malleable, it is perfect for Nexus 9. You can get the Kayscase TPU Cover from Amazon, for the price of $11.95.

Poetic Bumper Casepoetic bumper case

Poetic is one of the most popular case manufacturers in the US and the Bumper Turtle Skin series is the most eagerly-awaited line of tablet cases at the moment. The series won’t be launched until December 22nd, so make sure you’re on the lookout when the time comes. The Poetic Bumper Case will feature a slim silicon case with slots for the speaker grills. One function that makes this case pretty impressive is a speaker amplification for better sound. The Poetic Bumper Case is available on Amazon for the price of $14.99, not too bad for a case with a three year guarantee!

SupCase Heavy Duty SeriesSupCase Heavy Duty Series

This is not your regular slim case or folio! It’s a heavy duty case that will protect your precious Google Nexus 9 against dust and shocks, thanks to the layer of polycarbonate shell. It also features a built-in screen protector. One case from the SupCase Heavy Duty Series will set you back around $40.

Moko Smart CoverMoko Smart Cover

If you can’t see yourself spending $40 on the HTC Magic Cover, then we recommend this very similar, yet cheaper smart cover, from Moko. It comes in 6 colors and it features the exact same magnetic mechanism of closing and the same wake/sleep feature that the HTC Magic Cover does. It is made from a durable PU leather and the inside features a soft lining that will protect the display. It can also be folded just like the official case from HTC, which makes this copy-cat case, the second best Google Nexus 9 cover available today! The Moko Smart Cover costs $10.98 on Amazon.

Evecase Google Nexus 9 Leather Folio CaseEvecase Google Nexus 9 Leather Folio Case

The Evecase Leather Folio Case is probably the cheapest leather case you’ll find online! It is available in 6 different colors and has a built-in stylus holder, in case you’re passionate about those. This case costs $9.89 and you can get it on Amazon.

Bear Motion Folio Case for Google Nexus 9Bear Motion Folio Case for Google Nexus 9

The Bear Motion Folio Case is made from premium PU leather and it also functions as a stand with multiple viewing angles. PU leather is also known as bicast leather and is a material made with split leather backing that is covered a layer of polyurethane. The Bear Motion Folio Case for Google Nexus 9 costs $15.99 and is available on Amazon.

The greatest thing about this affordable folio is that it is available in 11 colors. It’s going to protect your Nexus 9 and it’s going to look fabulous doing it! Buy the Fintie Slim Fir Folio Cover for $8.99.

Other popular case and cover brands are:

  • Moleskine – this classic brand may be famous for their high-quality journals and schedulers, but of late, Moleskine has been making tablet cases and they’re incredibly popular and well-made. Any choice of model and pattern from this company will ensure that your Nexus 9 is looking sharp, while being well-taken care of.moleskine case
  • Samsonite – this company is new on the tablet case market. Having launched its first case in May of 2014, Samsonite will give you the best in the business, especially after at the beginning of this year, it acquired famous US-based distributor and designer of protective cases, Speck Products.
  • Vera Bradley – if wild and vivid colors is what you’re after, then Vera Bradley is the way to go!vera bradley case

2015 Nexus Tablet Rumors

A rumor concerning the fate of the Google line of devices surfaced at the beginning of this year. According to Russian blogger, Eldar Murtazin, Google is planning to kill its line of Nexus devices and introduce instead Google Play products.

To be honest, if you think about it, the rumors make a lot of sense. The Google Play devices, the Moto G, Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One, are the flagship Androids right now, and if the companies that produce them manage to release software updates in time, there is no reason to have a Nexus line. But on the other hand, we have a hard time imagining that Google will simply kill a line it has spent six years developing.

This rumor is almost a year old and a new rumor has just surfaced about the fate of the Nexus tablets. According to a recent report, there is a new Google Nexus tablet in the works and it will bear the HTC brand, again!

The device is expected to be launched in 2015 and it is expected to be a high-end gadget. The Nexus 9 is the first tablet HTC has released in three years, and it makes sense for the company to only focus on high-end devices.

Only time will tell if that Google will discontinue the Nexus line of tablets in 2015 or if we can expect a new Nexus tablet from HTC. We believe that some changes will indeed be made to the line, maybe even some serious ones, such as killing one of two products, but for Google to discontinue entire line of Google Nexus, we strongly doubt it. What are your thoughts about this?
