The woman claims that the porn company representative never told her about shooting adult films in her home.
And this week’s piece of curious news comes all the way from historic Martha’s Vineyard where a woman has slapped a Canadian porn company with a federal lawsuit after she found out that dozens of adult movies were shot in the house she rented. A company’s lawyer insists that the landlord’s case is unfounded and that no breach of contract occurred.
Porn Company Dismisses Massachusetts Woman’s Claims
Leah Bassett is a Martha’s Vineyard resident and owner of a sumptuous home which, according to her claims, was raised and decorated with the help of her father.
In October 2014, Bassett was approached by Joshua Spafford, a representative of Mile High Distribution Inc, a Canadian-based film company that mainly produces adult films. Spafford shook hands with Bassett over renting her house for an extended winter, disclosing the details about what the company’s desire to rent her home.
Based on the woman’s claims and the landlord-tenant contract, the Martha’s Vineyard house was leased to the company between October 2014 and May 2015.
However, following a personal investigation, the woman realized, much to her bewilderment, that the home she rented to the said porn company was actually shooting pornographic movies in her house.
More than that, the woman stated in the recently filed federal lawsuit, that, according to her information, since the company moved in, it has shot approximately 24 adult films.
Bassett told the press that she was appalled to discover that the actors did ‘porn stuff’ in every area of the house, including the living room, kitchen, and bedrooms.
The woman declared that she Spafford and other members of the company deliberately hid from her the reason behind renting the house. Furthermore, the Martha’s Vineyard homeowner claims that the porn company also violated her intellectual right as most of the adult movies shot in her home featured her artwork.
