The LG G2, G3 and their entire line of G Pads will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update at an undisclosed time – South Korea being the first country that will have it pushed; the rollout is to be expected to finish by mid-April, following releases in May for the U.S and certain parts of the world. A major carrier is being hinted to take on G3 smartphones – at this date nobody knows for sure who it will be or what their marketing strategy is.
It seems to be a great week for LG owners around the world. AT&T and Sprint have already released their 5.0 Lollipop update for the G3, and T-Mobile software’s update page states that it’s in the final stages of testing.
Although it seems to be a great week for LG, UK Tech forums are being swamped with bug issues regarding the new update. UK managed to push out the 5.0 Lollipop, for the G3, back in December 2014, and the general population thinks that it should have had stayed a little bit more in ” Manufacturer Development”.
Also the LG G2 has the lowest price that it has had in its history – it’s only 189$ and you don’t need to worry about committing to a certain carrier because you’ll receive it unlocked. The LG G2 seems to be a must get phone at that price.
Its specifications include a 13 MP (4160 x 3120 pixels) camera, that can also record video at 1080p with 60fps, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor at 2.26 GHz, Adreno 330 GPU, with 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage without the possibility of adding an microSD card.
True-HD IPS+LCD display at 5.2 inches, a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, 424 ppi, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Some owners have complained about the battery life that it doesn’t last too long – 790h in stand-by, and up to 16 h 30 min talk-time. The battery isn’t really top-notch, and you can mark it as mediocre – non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery.
And if you are among the owners of the discontinued G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition you can rest assured you can download the new Android 5.0 Lollipop – it has been made available months ago.
