Windows 9 Release Date And Features

August 8, 2014 By Deborah Campbell Leave a Comment

New report states that Windows Threshold or Windows 9 will at last add a feature of Notification center. This feature was very much required in the Windows operating system.

As per the report of Microsoft website Neowin, user can get all the latest information from every app through this new feature. The company has released Windows 9 notification center from Desktop Taskbar which generally known as System Tray. It is the place from where user checks the battery life, network status, time, and date and volume settings. In Windows 9, Operating system will automatically store the notification of different apps. Furthermore, the reports said that the company has also added a Clear button for the purpose of deleting all notifications.

Although, the report explains everything quite in detail, but still it does not offer any specific picture of the Windows 9 notification area. Neowin foretells that there will be an addition of some other new features and modifications before it is accomplished. Moreover, the report says that Windows 9 will offer everything which a user wishes to see in it.

Microsoft is planning to launch Windows 9 at an event on 30th of September. In that event the company will also allow people to download a Technical Preview of Windows 9. This Technical preview will contain a working beta for its early downloaders. The company has already added a few new features, but it is preparing to include some more for the improvement of Windows.

However, Microsoft has not officially declared any plans regarding the event of 30th of September. The firm has not even announced a single thing related to Windows 9. Nevertheless, Microsoft in BUILD 2014 said that it is currently working on the next chief release for Windows. At that point it also displayed some feature which the users are eagerly waiting to release.

It is not wrongly said that through Windows 9 the desktop interface is attempting to make a return. In Windows 8 the Desktop is just a thing for users to interact in a new way with the older apps. Foremost, it gave an impression as if Microsoft wanted to shift users to the Start Screen and its new interface. The firm unveiled its future plans that it is intending to bring Windows Store apps to the Desktop for the convenience of users. In addition, it is stated that the company will launch a miniature Start Screen to work as the new Start menu. In this manner the people who still opt for Desktop instead of laptop can avail the benefits of few major improvements.

There are also rumors that Cortona, the Windows Phone personal assistant will make an appearance in Windows 9.

If Microsoft really launched its Windows 9 at an event of 30 of September the company probably release the final form of Windows in the beginning of 2015. However, it is not yet announced whether the company will give operating system to the user of Windows 8 for free or not.

New cancer classification system- A real achievement

August 8, 2014 By Deborah Campbell Leave a Comment

Recently, a research has shown that identifying the molecular structure of a human being for cancer is more appropriate instead of studying the disease through tissue and organs. It would be easier to ascertain out the treatment or cure cancer through this new method since the techniques that were previously used are almost 100 years old. Earlier, doctors used to determine the cancer through the organs in which the tissues were originated fro instance bladder, liver or breast.

This detailed survey is printed in a journal named as  The Cancer Genome Atlas initiative. Experts have proved this with the help of a study in which they studied almost 3500 tumor cases. In the end it was proved that through 10 cancer patients that  patients  diagnosed by molecular tissues treat way better than the others.

Later on, the researchers explained it with a case which they faced during the experimentation. During their study they found out that three different kinds of tissues present in the human bladder. These tissues are so dissimilar from each other that firstly researchers thought that they discovered a new category of bladder tissue. Shortly, after the revelation of this fact the experts began the examination of the patients who suffers from similar kind of cancer and their treatments. In conclusion, the whole scenario was drawn with the assistance of an example. For instance, there are two patients and both of them suffers from bladder cancer of different bladder tissues then treating them with a same medicine would not be that much effective. This case demonstrates the reason why patients who has similar disease react differently to the same medication.

This research paved the way for further discovery of treatments for cancer disease.

July 30, 2014 By Deborah Campbell Leave a Comment

Corning Inc. freely donates $1.8 million for an amazing space telescope project that is hoped to be launched into great action and service in the middle of the 2020s. BoldlyGo Institute, a non-profit unit, hopes that Astro-1 will be on space service by mid-2020s.

This fabulous project is well-supported by Corning Inc. as Jon Morse, the CEO of BoldlyGo Institute have observed. He said that this donation became a great step forwards in their efforts to raise for this highly expensive project. Corning’s donation was primarily used for the 6 feet diameter of the primary mirror of the said telescope.

Morse, a former director of astrophysics at NASA headquarters that Corning Inc. Has indeed made BoldlyGo to stay more active in seeking funds to sustain its higher technological innovative project that will even surpass the Hubble Space Telescope’s performance and durability for up to 10 times. He is hoping that this project won’t go beyond $1 billion and as he sees it, sources would mainly come from private funding to maintain the project’s proposed quality and integrity.

It can be recalled that BoldlyGo Institute was being founded just last year with its aim to increase space science missions with private funding. Astro-1 is expected to aid in the study of the Milky Way’s neighboring galaxies together with the planets that orbit around nearby stars. BoldlyGo Institute even hopes to sponsor unmanned mission to Mars.

Soichiro Monji, chief strategist at Daiwa SB Investment in Tokyo explained that funds from Middle Eastern and Asian investors were resuming as the Muslim fasting month ends.

He alluded towards the geopolitical concerns in Ukraine but expressed relief in the news that the impact will be contained. In fact, one of the key factors in commodities such as oil were geopolitical issues, Brent crude decreased 0.4 percent to $107.96 a barrel but still managed to retain a chunk of its gains from Friday, when it increased more than a dollar as the conflict in Ukraine and progressively deteriorating relations between Russia and the US fueled fresh fears of supply problems.

The focus then turned to whether this week’s data from US would be strong enough to keep fueling risk appetite.

Trees Save 850 Lives every year by reducing Respiratory Problems

July 28, 2014 By Deborah Campbell Leave a Comment

A new study by the National Forrest Service has shown that trees save approximately eight hundred and fifty (850) lives on a yearly basis. According to the study, they do so by removing pollution from the air.

The study has shown that trees remove certain chemicals – such as carbon dioxide – from the air, thus preventing illness or even death in other, carbon based life forms, such as humans. Aside from the eight hundred and fifty lives that they save each year, trees have also been shown to help people with acute respiratory distress – which affects over six hundred and seventy thousand people per year.

Certain gases – most notably Nitrogen, Ozone, Sulfur Dioxide and Nitrogen Dioxide – have been linked to several diseases, but, as the study shows, trees are able to suck up a certain amount of these gases and exhaling gases that are more useful to humans, most notably oxygen.

While eight hundred and fifty lives may not seem like a lot, but if the prevention of respiratory problems and they alleviation of many other breathing related illnesses are taken into account, trees save the economy a staggering seven billion dollars in health care costs every year.

The study also went on to note that where trees are placed has a significant effect on the removal of pollution, as well as the effect that this will end up having on the health of people. According to the report:

“In terms of impact on human health, trees in urban areas are substantially more important than rural trees due to their proximity to people. We found that in general, the greater the tree cover, the greater the pollution removal, and the greater the removal and population density, the greater the value of human health benefits.”

China’s amazing records in profit shares bring astounding effect to the global market, creating a great boost to Asia stock while leaving Europe unenthused. Paris and London benchmarks also top the list but many other European markets gets relatively lower at this time. This is even considered as Asia’s day as Shanghai Composite Index rose 2.4 % to 2,177.95. Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 adds 0.5% and Hang Seng of Hong Kong gets a 0.9% gain. Even South Korea’s Kospi gets a 0.7% increase. S&P/ASX200 from Sydney, Australia even gets an increase of 0.1% from its previous value.

Nissan Recalling Over 220,000 Vehicles for Air Bags Problem

July 27, 2014 By Deborah Campbell Leave a Comment

Nissan is recalling over two hundred and twenty thousand more cars due to potentially faulty airbags, according to an announcement by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The announcement comes after more than one million cars were recalled after a separate recall was announced in March.

According to Nissan, they are:

“…recalling certain model year 2002-2003 Nissan Maxima, Pathfinder and Infiniti I35 and QX4; 2002-2004 Nissan Sentra and 2003 Infiniti FX vehicles to address a safety defect in the passenger side frontal air bag which may produce excessive internal pressure causing the inflator to rupture upon deployment of the air bag. This recall addresses both the passenger side frontal air bags that were originally installed in the vehicles, as well as replacement air bags that may have been installed as replacement service parts.

“A replacement air bag may have been installed, as one example, if a vehicle had been in a crash necessitating the replacement of the passenger side frontal air bag.”

Nissan also went on to say that:

nissan-logo

“In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger’s frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the passenger seat occupant or other occupants.

“Owners of all vehicles on which a defective air bag may have been installed either as original equipment, or as a replacement, will be notified. Dealers will inspect vehicles, and where a defective air bag inflator is identified, the inflator will be replaced, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin August 11, 2014. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-647-7261.”

The current recall is an extension to the recall in March, and Nissan has said that they are currently unaware of any injuries resulting from the faulty airbags. Nissan also noted that you can check whether or not your vehicle needs to be recalled by visiting their website.
