Verizon Announces Pre-Order Details for Samsung Galaxy S6 Phones

March 25, 2015 By Roxanne Briean Leave a Comment

With the impending release of Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, major retailers are getting ready for a large number of pre-orders for Samsung’s latest “toys”. Amazon and Best Buy have created pre-order pages where you can register live. Other retailers, like Costco, Wal-Mart or Target, will surely be following in their footsteps in a very short period of time.

With only a few weeks remaining until the release, these pages already went online so users can sign up and receive the newest news regarding the two gadgets. Similar pages from leading U.S. providers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, U.S. Cellular and Sprint) went live as well.

Verizon was the first carrier in the U.S. to mention pre-order details and their customers will be able to order both phones starting with April 1.

People that register at Amazon.com until the 31 of March will be able to take advantage of their unique offer. They will receive a virtual coupon that they can use to buy accessories for the Samsung Galaxy S6 as well as for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge at a discount rate and they can end up saving as much as $30. This offer does not require you to purchase a smartphone so basically you can use this discount to buy gifts for your friends or family.

sss2

Those of you that prefer buying from Sam’s Club, Target, Wal-Mart or Costco must not worry. On the 1st of March 2015 Samsung stated that the S6 and S6 Edge will also be available at the retailers mentioned above and registration pages are expected any day now.

One of the major improvements made by Samsung is the operating system (OS). They added the Android OS, v5.0.2 or better known as Lollipop which is a lot faster, more stable and by far more reliable than their previous Android based operating systems.

The first thing that you will notice when holding a Galaxy S6 or perhaps a Galaxy S6 Edge is the design. They have finally abandoned the plastic case that the previous Galaxy models had and, instead went for a more durable as well as more stylish approach. The body is made out of aluminum and glass that gives it a rather slick feel and look.

Both devices use a Quad 2.1GHz processor plus a Quad 1.5Ghz processor, adding up to a Octa-Core processor and I for one expect them be very fast smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge will be released on the 10 of April worldwide but it is reported that the major U.S. providers will begin selling them starting with April 11.

Pricewise, Samsung did not release any concrete information yet, but it is believed that they will be rather expensive:

  • Samsung Galaxy S6 32 GB around $855
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 64 GB around $970
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 128 GB around $1085
  • The Galaxy S6 Edge 32 GB around $850
  • The Galaxy S6 Edge 64 GB around $950
  • The Galaxy S6 Edge 128 GB around $1050

Heroes of the Storm – a new take on the MOBA genre

March 25, 2015 By Roxanne Briean 6 Comments

Heroes of the Storm is a new MOBA game, multiplayer online battle arena, from Blizzard, creators of Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, HearthStone and the MMORPG phenomenon called World of Warcraft.

If you are somewhat of a gamer you have definitely heard of the craze that has made eSports cool again – League of Legends, and Dota 2. But before we get started on what we see today, let’s take a ride on memory lane and remember where it all started.

Heroes of the Storm Champions

Where did it all start?

In 1998 a fairly little company named Blizzard Entertainment released a real-time strategy game that sold over 11 million copies to date – Starcraft. Besides having a great campaign story-line, refreshing game mechanics, and addictive multiplayer, Starcraft was also bundled with a map editor. By giving the community the tools to create whatever they dreamed in their made-up world, Blizzard struck a chord, a gold-chord.

Fast-forward to 2002, with Blizzard realizing that they have the secret formula to engage their fans. Releasing another RTS – Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, accompanied of course with a better map editor, made the modding community go crazy. Eul, a modder that was also active in the Starcraft community, took the most popular map and converted it so it could be playable in Warcraft III – with some major tweaks here and there and improving substantially the quality of gameplay.

Defense of the Ancients, or short Dota, was immediately loved by newbies, and RTS veterans alike. The map pinned 2 teams, each formed of 5 champions,  against eachother – the end goal of the game was to destroy the enemy’s main building located in their base; going through 3 tiers of towers, on 3 separate lanes, or just snowballing on one side and rushing victory.

But only with the release of the last Warcraft expansion, Frozen Throne, did it astound, and shocked players to gather around it and give it a try. Eul with Steve “Guinsoo” Feak, and IceFrog managed to garner 1 million fans for the War3 modded map and from there on it only got better.IceFrog went on and helped create Dota2 for Valve, and Steve ” Guinsoo” Feak brought us, with Riot Games, League of Legends – one of the most played and loved MOBA games in the past 5 years.

Can Heroes of the Storm manage to do something different?

Heroes of the Storm has some big shoes to fill. First off it needs to bring something new to the table, something refreshing – game mechanics that are easy to understand, but also hard to master; objectives that make the player experience the game differently, and not be just a copy of a copy of a modded map from ’98. Well Blizzard had the best idea – they united characters from their most loved games such as Warcraft, Diablo and Starcraft, and also added some new ones, and they pinned them against each other in an arena that has a new view on how to achieve victory. Their new way is addictive and fun, and it feels like you are a part of a bigger plan. Let’s take a look at some unique battlegrounds:

Heroes of the Storm Battleground

Sky Temple

  • Capture the Temples – Temples will periodically awaken. Stand within their grounds to capture their power!
  • Hold the Temples – Remain firm and the temple will unleash a blistering onslaught on your enemy’s forts!
  • Defend The Temples – Guardians will try to wrest control of their temples from your team. Hold them off to keep the temple’s power for yourselves!

Heroes of the Storm Battleground

Garden of Terror

  • Fight the Shamblers – At night, Shamblers will rise from the Gardens!
  • Collect Seeds – Kill the Shamblers and collect seeds for your team!
  • Control Garden Terror – With 100 seeds, control a garden terror and destroy your enemies!

Heroes of the Storm Battleground

Black Heart’s Bay

  • Collect Doubloons – Attack treasure chests, mercenaries, and skeletons to collect doubloons!
  • Turn in Doubloons – Hand your doubloons over to BlackHeart or you will drop them all when you die!
  • Bombard your enemies – After receiving enough doubloons from your team, BlackHeart will bombard your enemy’s forts!

Stiches

Easy to understand, hard to master!

The beautiful thing about Heroes of the Storm is how anybody can try it and actually help out their team. You don’t need to read guides, or figure out what certain items your hero needs, you don’t even need to read the tooltips for your spells – although I highly recommend you to read them. Blizzard chose to forget about the traditional way you buy items by completely removing them from the game.

You don’t have items to buy, you just level up – your hero in-game levels up, and also your account levels up. By reaching a higher level you unlock different spells, and different skins for your heroes. For example you can dress Kerrigan up as a countess, or Thrall, the Warchief of the Horde as a demonic Orc from the Outland – HellHammer Thrall. A greenhorn can have tremendous fun in this game just by playing one game after another without worrying that he is a noob.

You have probably played a MOBA game once, and it felt lackluster not only because you had to stay put and read everything about items, and your spells, and your spell’s range, but also because of the toxic community that spews only cesspool when a new player wants to learn the game. Heroes of the Storm doesn’t have a chat bar, and it somehow alleviates the stress and fury of other players that will rage if you don’t react within a millisecond of what they were thinking. The chat bar only comes up at the end of the game where you only have time to write a ” GG”, or ” Nice playing with you!”.

Another ” hats down to you, dear sir!” to Blizzard for changing how the team scores its kills. If an ally of yours kills an enemy, the team scores; if you and an ally kill an enemy, the team scores; Their motto ” There is no I in teamwork!” stands clear to everyone that wishes to individualize this game, and doesn’t make others feel bad. Every single member is a part of the win, or loss.

But if you want to snowball and win gloriously on the battleground, if you want your name to be forever remembered in the hall of fame you will need to exercise your play-style, work out a strategy with your team members, know when and how to react to an enemy’s spell, and most importantly of all – map control.

Map awareness is constantly being aware of who is moving on the minimap, where is that hero going, and what could be the outcome – could he get ambushed by some enemies? could you ambush an enemy that is blindly moving towards his doom? Is the whole enemy team missing in action from the minimap? Well they must be planning a team fight and you’d better watch yourself!

Heroes of the Storm Team Fight

Instead of a replica, we have something new and fun!

Kudos to Blizzard Entertainment for not jumping on the band-wagon and creating something more that stands out in the seas of replicas that we are accustomed to. At the current moment, Heroes of the Storm is in its beta stages – some things will mostly change, while others will remain the same. Their top priority is adding more content to the game – more heroes to choose from, more battlegrounds to play on, more spells to use against your enemies, and more pretty little dresses ( they are called skins and they only influence the game visually, and not how the mechanics work).

At this time we don’t have an official release date for Heroes of the Storm, but what we do have is a Founder’s Pack that can be bought directly from their website. Being in its beta stage means that it isn’t available unless you have an invite, or a key. Buying the Founder’s Pack, that costs 35 EUR will automatically give you entrance to this ethereal and amazing world – it consists of 2,500 gold pieces, permanently unlocking Diablo, Raynor, and Tyrande, three bonus skins for Lurkablo Diablo, Commander Raynor, and Blood Elf Tyrande, and also a golden cyber wolf mount.

If you are eager to find out how a match looks like you can watch one right here. Most LOL, or Dota2 are time wasters – you can have a match that goes on for 60 minutes, or others that are only 20 minutes long, but usually, the average playtime is 30 minutes. Heroes of the Storm doesn’t make it feel like a marathon, but instead it wishes to be short and sweet – 20 to 25 minutes long for your daily dose of fun!

If you’re a gamer let us know your take on Heroes of the Storm. Will it be the LOL killer? or will it be forgotten? I for one can’t wait to get my hands on it tonight!

Kingston launches HyperX Predator

March 25, 2015 By Roxanne Briean Leave a Comment

HyperX Predator SSD HyperX, a division of Kingston Technology Company, just released a new SSD called Predator. This top-notch solid state drive has whooping speeds of – 1.4GB/s to read, and 1GB/s to write. Predator will be available in 240GB for the price of 230$, and in 480GB for the price of 460$. Kingston.com is stating that a 960GB version is in the works, and will be available for the public starting Q1/Q2 .

They are not cheap, and they are also not expensive at all, considering the fact that it also comes with a 3-year warranty and Kingston claims that it can write up to 805GB per day, and still maintain a , tech-wise, healthy aspect – it’s more than the usual user writes on a drive on a daily basis.

“As enthusiast desktop users and datacenter customers seek greater performance to break through 6Gb/s SATA limitation, Marvell’s X4-lane PCIe SSD Controller 88SS9293 provides lightning fast, next-generation SSD performance,” said Mike Chen, director of product marketing, Storage BU, Marvell. “We are proud to work with the HyperX team to deliver higher bandwidth and throughput for client systems and datacenter customers seeking to maximize storage performance.” It’s the first time we see Marvell 88SS9293 controller being used on a shipping product, and I, for one, can’t wait to see what other boundaries Kingston, working hand in hand with HyperX and Marvell, will break.

The PCIe interface in M.2 form factor, with an optional HHHL adapter, will ensure next-generation platform support with an M.2 PCIe slot, and also for existing motherboards without an M.2 socket.

“HyperX is happy to unleash its fastest HyperX SSD to date. The PCIe form factor showcases extreme speeds while processing both compressed and uncompressed data,” said Lawrence Yang, business manager, HyperX. “We worked closely with Marvell to engineer this HyperX Predator PCIe SSD for higher performance and it more than delivers through its ultra-responsive multi-tasking and faster system performance.” HyperX is revolutionizing the industry with their high-performance products targeted not only towards businesses, enterprises, home users, but also towards die hard gamers – sponsoring over 20 eSports teams all over the world, and being the main sponsor of Intel Extreme Masters.

LG G2, G3 and G Pad users will get Android 5.0 Lollipop

March 25, 2015 By Roxanne Briean Leave a Comment

LG G2 with Android 5.0 LollipopThe LG G2, G3 and their entire line of G Pads will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update at an undisclosed time – South Korea being the first country that will have it pushed; the rollout is to be expected to finish by mid-April, following releases in May for the U.S and certain parts of the world. A major carrier is being hinted to take on G3 smartphones – at this date nobody knows for sure who it will be or what their marketing strategy is.

It seems to be a great week for LG owners around the world. AT&T and Sprint have already released their 5.0 Lollipop update for the G3, and T-Mobile software’s update page states that it’s in the final stages of testing.

Although it seems to be a great week for LG, UK Tech forums are being swamped with bug issues regarding the new update. UK managed to push out the 5.0 Lollipop, for the G3, back in December 2014, and the general population thinks that it should have had stayed a little bit more in ” Manufacturer Development”.

Also the LG G2 has the lowest price that it has had in its history – it’s only 189$ and you don’t need to worry about committing to a certain carrier because you’ll receive it unlocked. The LG G2 seems to be a must get phone at that price.

Its specifications include a 13 MP (4160 x 3120 pixels) camera, that can also record video at 1080p with 60fps, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor at 2.26 GHz, Adreno 330 GPU, with 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage without the possibility of adding an microSD card.

True-HD IPS+LCD display at 5.2 inches, a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, 424 ppi, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Some owners have complained about the battery life that it doesn’t last too long – 790h in stand-by, and up to 16 h 30 min talk-time. The battery isn’t really top-notch, and you can mark it as mediocre – non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery.

And if you are among the owners of the discontinued G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition you can rest assured you can download the new Android 5.0 Lollipop – it has been made available months ago.

An Amazing Week for Skywatchers: Total Solar Eclipse, Supermoon & Vernal Equinox

March 20, 2015 By Nancy Young Leave a Comment

This week was amazing for sky watchers throughout the world. The “aurora borealis” came first, earlier this week and today we were fortunate enough to witness a total solar eclipse. The first day of spring is upon us and with it came the largest celestial event of this year.

Unfortunately for people in the U.S., the total solar eclipse was not visible from any part in the county. Only folks from some specific far away islands in Northern Europe as well as the residents of the Faroe Islands and of the Norwegian Svalbard got to see the event in all its splendor.northern-lights-kuujjuaq-march-19-2015

Americans were able to witness it via a live stream hosted by the “Slooth Community Observatory” that managed to send real time images from the beginning until the end of the event. For those of you that did not manage to catch the live stream, you can browse your way to live.slooth.com (here) and see a recording of it.

As mentioned by “Space.com”, a rather partial eclipse was visible across parts of Europe, the Northern part of Asia and Northern Africa. They said that depending on your location in Europe you were able to see from about 50% to almost 99% of the Sun’s diameter covered by the Moon.

The celestial event started at 4:30 AM Eastern Standard Time on Friday the 30st of March, 2015, and it lasted for about four hours. It was the only total solar eclipse this year and the first one since 2013.

What is a solar eclipse?

A solar eclipse happens when a sizable object, namely the Moon, obscures our view of the Sun. The Sun’s light does not reach Earth but instead is projected on the Moon’s surface causing a large shadow to be cast on some parts of our planet sinking them into darkness. Usually it gets so dark that if you were to look at the sky you would swear that it is dusk and not the middle of the day.

Some people believe that during a solar eclipse the whole world darkens but they are wrong and in truth only a few small regions of the world are affected and not even all at the same intensity or time. This is why not everybody got to experience this Friday’s event with their own eyes.

In order for this to be a perfect day for astronomers everywhere, two other significant astrological events occurred. The vernal (spring) equinox, that marks the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, as well as the celestial event known as the Supermoon.

image11

The Supermoon

lemur1The Supermoon occurs when a “new moon” (“full moon”)  is at its closest to Earth on its elliptical orbit around our planet. This results in the lunar disk being at its largest size as viewed from Earth. The term “Supermoon” was given in 1979 by the American astrologist Richard Nolle and he defined it as: “…a new or full moon which occurs with the Moon at its closest approach to Earth in a given orbit.

In short, Earth, Moon and Sun are all in a line, with Moon in its nearest approach to Earth.”. Because of its size the Moon will completely block out our view of the sun causing a total solar eclipse.

The Vernal Equinox

It happens when our Sun passes exactly over the equator, causing the nights and days to be almost equal. It does not have any impacts on the solar eclipse or on the Supermoon. The term “Equinox”  comes from the Latin “aequus” that translates into “equal” and “nox” meaning “night”. It happens twice every year, first roughly on the 20th of March, and second around the 22 of September.

0378-Vernal-Equinox-q75-500x240

It was an amazing, and at the same time a rare coincidence that a total solar eclipse took place on the same day as the spring equinox. Scientists say that such an event will not happen again for another 18 years in 2034. After that, they estimate that a similar event will take place in the year 2055 followed by another one, 19 years later in 2072.

There will be another solar eclipse in 2015 but this time it will only be viewed by observers from Antarctica and South Africa. The event will take place on the 13th of September. Partial solar and lunar eclipses are not rare at all and they tend to occur about twice a year.

NASA reports that there will be yet another total solar eclipse two years from now in 2017 and this time the event will be visible in the US. Until then, Americans can witness two moon eclipses this year. The first one will take place on the 4th of April followed by another one on the 28th of September.

Today’s total solar eclipse was a spectacular event leaving millions of people across the globe amazed. If you didn’t get the chance to witness it live then jump over to sloth.com or any other web site that has a recording of it and watch it for yourselves. Trust me when I say that you will not regret it.

7 More Awesome Gadgets Exhibited at CES 2015

January 16, 2015 By Roxanne Briean Leave a Comment

The annual Consumer Electronics Show did not fail to deliver the craziest, newest, most baffling, fun and clever gadgets this year around either. We already took a look at some of the most exciting gadgets here, but we felt like that list didn’t include all the contenders. This is why we decided to take a look at some other great innovations.

Some of the devices were there just to tease us with the possibilities of the future, while others are actually slated to become available for purchase (yet, mind you, most will probably be way out of your regular shopper’s budget) later this year for the comfortable, the tech savvy and people who just enjoy the wonders of new technology.

The halls were filled with all sorts of robotics, handheld devices, computerized wearables, crazy smart automobiles and… levitation magic? I guess you could call it magic even though it’s mostly based on magnets. But more on that later on. Here’s a list of 10 things that were exhibited at CES 2015 that deserve attention or are just too cool to not mention.

1. ZANO – The Miniature Selfie Drone

7 More Awesome Gadgets Exhibited at CES 2015

We’re starting off with something less hardcore than some of the rest of the list. Even so, this is a pretty sweet addition to the world of electronics. Ok, it’s not the most useful thing you’ll crave for in your household but fun enough to earn an excited “aah”.

Flying drones are not even remotely shocking anymore. With developers such as DJI running the market and improving their technology by the day, piloting your flying camera remotely as it zooms around your neighborhood or the tourist attraction you’re visiting is possible and easy to do. Such drones have found their way into more artistic and professional filmmaking as well, proving to be the best tools you can get when it comes to time lapse projects for example.

Here’s the next installment, more consumer-friendly version of the flying drone. The SELFIE drone. That’s right, the tiny ZANO miniature drone will make sure that your arm doesn’t even show in your future selfies by letting you capture photos from a height and make sure your entire group fits in the picture.

But selfies isn’t the only thing it specializes in, especially given the fact that it includes digital image stabilization in its design. Even given its size, ZANO can take on lengthy adventures and shoot from an altitude almost just like other flying drones would. However, its operating range is only 15 – 30 meters long so don’t expect to be shooting off of Empire State Building.

ZANO is no larger than the palm of your hand and is capable of shooting photos and HD video just as well. The little drone is remotely controlled through your smartphone but also has autonomous operation capabilities, knowing how to avoid obstacles by itself and knowing to return to your mobile device’s signal whenever it feels it has strayed too far, is nearing the edge of signal strength or its battery is running low. It can take care of itself for approximately 15 minutes and can zip around as fast as 25 miles per hour.

2. LG G Flex 2

7 More Awesome Gadgets Exhibited at CES 2015

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 has been out since the end of last year, promising to deliver never before seen performance for mobile devices that would come out in early / Q1 of 2015. The first happy owner of the innovative processor chip is not Samsung Galaxy S6 as many people thought would be, but the eccentric looking LG G Flex 2.

The reason I call it eccentric is because it introduces itself with the most peculiar shape you have yet to see – say hello to the curved display technology that has made its way around this past year in a new, cleverer and better way. The LG G Flex 2 is the second attempt the company made at the curved phone idea, but this time around it seems to have nailed it – or at least, managed to nail it enough to make it into a top 10 CES innovation list.

The 5.5 inch display phone has a curved, bent design that gives the phone a godly feel in the palm of your hand and is made to endure. Not only that the LG G Flex 2 literally flexes when you drop it or apply weight and pressure on it.

The display itself isn’t special just because it adopted the curved technology, it’s special because it’s a true warrior of resilience – it was built to be resistant to cracking and hold next level self-healing capabilities, allowing for scratches to repair themselves in a matter of hours. No joke.

3. Levitating Air2 Speaker

7 More Awesome Gadgets Exhibited at CES 2015

It’s pronounced Air squared and it’s the coolest looking thing I’ve ever seen next to old school lava lamps and plasma spheres. That’s pretty much all about it though, just like lava lamps and plasma spheres. Okay, I don’t mean to bash the device before I even start off giving you details about it, but as amazing as the magnetic speaker is, it won’t exceed the “cool looking gadget” status.

The Air2 is comprised of two parts – the base that does most of the software and sensor work and the actual speaker – a metallic round shaped pad that fits in the palm of your hand. The base includes a microphone for conference calls and a micro-USB port used for charging the device.

Considering the design of the Air2, actually getting the speaker to magnetically levitate on the round base involves quite a bit of effort if you manage to do it by hand but luckily the package includes a device that you place the speaker in then settle on top of the base for easy setup.

Since it’s magnetic, the speaker can also be attached to any metallic surface such as refrigerators if you want to listen to your favorite tunes when getting dinner done. Its Bluetooth capability extends to 33 feet distances and it won’t require any juice for up to 12 hours of playtime. Air2 is already available for purchase off of Amazon as we speak, for a price of $199.

4. Toyota Mirai

7 More Awesome Gadgets Exhibited at CES 2015

Dr. Michio Kaku, famous theoretical physicist, futurist and popularize of science was the lovely and charismatic person to present the next step in automotive technology. And we’re talking realistic next step here, given that the Mirai will be available for purchase later this year.

What made the Mirai so special to be endorsed by Dr. Kaku is the purely hydrogen-fueled car. The way fuel-cell engines work is transforming the hydrogen and oxygen chemical reaction into electrical power to fuel the engine while instead of CO2 emissions, you get… water. Indeed, the Toyota Mirai uses the one element that’s the most abundant in our universe and exhaust something that will not ensure our atmospheric demise inside a couple dozen years.

From many perspectives, Dr. Michio Kaku insists that the Mirai is the perfect car – no pollution, vast quantities existent for fuelling it, no internal moving engine parts that reduce the regular wear and tear that kicks in in regular automobiles, and lastly – the expected demise in prices for hydrogen fueled vehicles expected in the near future.

The Mirai has a range of 300 miles per “fill” and accelerates from 0 to 60 miles an hour in 9 seconds. A hydrogen tank refill doesn’t last longer than 5 minutes so the fuel-cell car is on par with combustion engine vehicles and not as time taxing as electric ones. The Toyota Mirai will be available for purchase later this year for the price of $57,000 – a bit of a luxury for now – but Dr. Michio Kaku is certain that once governments begin funding and encouraging production of hydrogen fueled cars over oil ones, prices will plummet.

Toyota also announced that the entirety of the 5,680 patents behind the construction of the Mirai will be made available, royalty free and given to anyone wishing to innovate more on the concept.

5. Mercedes-Benz F015 Luxury in Motion

7 More Awesome Gadgets Exhibited at CES 2015

Possibly the most eye catching exhibit at Las Vegas’ CES 2015 was Mercedes’ concept model for the autonomous car of the future. Eye candy is an understatement – not only that, but the things that it promises to deliver on top are almost hard to believe.

Mercedes CEO held a speech when presenting the F 015, depicting what inspired building this different car – the belief that the future of automobiles turns them into more than just means of transportation, but something he called “private retreats”. Thus the car was built as a haven of comfort.

While the outside of the car is not even close to any other car made so far in human history, depicting a very unusual shape and face, the inside of the F 015 is the real bomb.

Considering it’s meant to be a self-driving car, the first thing that catches your eye are the 4 chairs facing each other two and two, with large glass panels giving you snippets of your surroundings on the front, back, sides and roof of the vehicle.

All around the inside of the car there is a number of 6 LED displays that change color from a blue glow when the car is in autonomous mode and a white glow when it’s turned on to manual; yes, the F 015 will also let you drive it by popping the steering wheel out from under the dash and revolving your driver’s chair the other way around.

The 6 displays are there to allow you to control your car through motion and gesture, and along with the audio capturing devices allow you to give spoken instructions as well. The technology that allows the car to be autonomous is a series of laser projection systems that allow the F 015 to sense traffic, obstacles and map a complete 3D map of its surroundings.

There’s no telling when a car such as Mercedes-Benz’ wonder will come to fruition; but CES attendees can tell you themselves that stepping into the F 015 is like warping at least a few decades into the future.

6. Intel’s Computer Stick

7 More Awesome Gadgets Exhibited at CES 2015

Not sure what else I should call this tiny device other than “computer in a stick”. Forget about laptops, notebooks, Alienware Alphas or whatnot. Intel has done it. Intel has managed to fit an entire computer inside a 4 inch stick. Here are the specs: 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and even a microSD slot if you want some more.

This portable computer is not much of a machine by itself. Its power truly kicks in when you plug it into any HDMI port host device and connect a USB cable to it to give it power. Bear witness as your flat screen TV, LCD monitor or any other HDMI capable device transforms into a computer.

With the specifications mentioned above, it won’t be smoothly running Photoshop, Ableton or your favorite video game, but for anything else that you would ever want to use a computer, it’s there. The Intel Compute Stick will start going on sale in March and even ship with Windows already installed, for a price of $150. Intel is also considering offering a variant to the Windows based stick – a Linux model that will be sold for even less: $89.

7. CyberPowerPC’s Fang Trinity Gaming PC

Cyberpowerpc_Deepcool_Fang_Trinity_2-pcgh

We may have mentioned the Trinity Gaming PC in our previous overview of CES innovations, but it deserves a lengthier introduction. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Hell yes it’s a plane. A gaming plane. Downright rocket science gaming computer. God knows why the Fang Trinity looks the way it does, but I’ll be damned if it’s not the coolest, craziest desktop that your eyes have ever set upon.

Its alien and Sci-Fi appearance is nowhere near to where it ends though. The components held in the 3 separate pods of the computer are great, state of the art parts that will run any single game coming out now or even next year on Ultra settings for sure.

The prototype presented at CES 2015 packs a foot long nVidia GeForce GTX 980 4 GB graphics processing unit, packed with an extra fan to keep things cool (metaphorically AND literally), and anywhere between 3 to 5 SSD hard drives in the first pod. The second houses the power supply, an optical drive and two SATA hard drives. The third is host to the liquid-cooled Intel Core i7-4790K quad-core 4.7 GHz processor, a Mini ITX motherboard and more fans.

The Fang Trinity is planned to make it in stores in about 3 months but don’t expect it to be cheap. The case alone costs approximately $350, while the whole thing could go up to $4,000 for the most high-end configuration. CyberPowerPC stated that they will be building some more easily accessible models – $1,000 for an entry-level configuration.

iPhone 7 Rumor Roundup: Most Exciting News & Release Date

December 7, 2014 By Roxanne Briean Leave a Comment

It may seem a bit premature to be talking about the next iPhone, considering that the iPhone 6 has barely been released, but you would be surprised at the amount of rumors that have surfaced about the next iPhone 7. At the moment, there are several speculations regarding the next features, specs, design details and release date of the iPhone 7. One of the biggest question right now is what exactly will the name of the next iPhone be.

Judging by Apple’s release patterns for the 4 and 5 models we could assume that the next iPhone will be the iPhone 6s, not the iPhone 7. However, some specialists suggest that Apple is thinking about dropping the ‘S’ name convention, mostly because it is perceived negatively by the public. In general, S devices were seen as not 100% new. In most situations, they were variations of the older model that set the stage for the future iPhone.

We have decided to create a iPhone 7 rumor roundup of the most exciting new features. Some of them were expected on the iPhone 6, and others have been floating around for years. Who knows, maybe Apple will be unveiling them with the next iPhone 7. Before we begin, we would ask you to take this rumors with a grain of salt, because some concepts might be a little too futuristic to be feasible. All in all, predictions are exciting, and the fact that customers are already interested in the features of the next iPhone demonstrates their interest in these devices.
Iphone-7
Here are the 10 Most Exciting iPhone 7 Rumors for 2015:

1. The Next Gen iPhone Could Enjoy the Biggest Camera Jump in History

As you may already know, Apple wasn’t quick to upgrade camera features, especially in terms of MP value, for the last few models. We have strong reasons to believe that the iPhone 6 Plus, or the iPhone 7, will enjoy advanced camera capabilities. Industry experts refer to this change as the “biggest camera jump ever”.

This could very well be more than a rumor, because in the latest episode of “The Talk Show”, a podcast, John Gruber said that Apple is currently working on a strange ‘two-lens system’ which may enable the iPhone to create DSLR quality images. Since the inception of the iPhone 4S, back in 2011, Apple has been working with a five-element lens design for the rear camera.

xbf

“The specific thing I heard is that next year’s camera might be the biggest camera jump ever,” iDownloadBlog quoted Gruber as saying. “I don’t even know what sense this makes, but I’ve heard that it’s some kind of weird two-lens system where the back camera uses two lenses and it somehow takes it up into DSLR quality imagery.”

Apple’s CMOS sensors have always been supplied by Sony, but this may change in the future. Although Gruber did not talk about the supplier for Apple’s next iPhone, there is a connection between the two. The announcement follows a declaration made by Sony, which reveals a new smartphone camera sensor. It seems that the Japanese manufacturer will be sporting a 21-megapixel Exmor RS IMX230 sensor that is capable of shooting 4K resolution videos with HDR image technology.

In addition to this, MacRumors, one of the most credible sources for Apple information & rumors, has recently reported that the new image sensor will begin shipping in April 2015. It is probably intended for the next generation of iPhones and iPads.

Another fact that may hint to the veridicity of this rumor was reported in Taiwan’s Economic Daily News. According to their headline, Apple is ‘actively’ working on creating an ecosystem of 3D hardware and software for future generations of devices.

10+ MP camera & Swappable Lenses for the iPhone 7

All the 4S, 5C, 5S, 6 and 6 Plus models sport an 8MP camera. That isn’t much of an advancement megapixel-wise. Nevertheless, although the devices have not received additional pixels over the years, camera software has been improved. New models of Apple’s flagship have better filters, image clarity and stabilization features. At the moment, paperwork for Apple’s swapable lenses are being drawn. We can only hope that the next camera will not protrude from the body, as it does on the iPhone 6.

2. The iPhone 7 May Feature Sidewall Display

iPhone-6-side-screen-concept

The Galaxy Note Edge may be the first smart-phone to have a unique display (with a shortcut menu on the right), but it may not be the only one for long. The slimmer, lighter & rounder design of the iPhone 6 might not be carried over to the iPhone 7. As a matter of fact, Apple might decide to go with a new design for the iPhone 7, something they call “sidewall display”.

According to recent news, Apple has just published a patent related to displays that extend to the sides of the device. These extra areas of display also have touch sensitive capabilities that unlock quick-access functionalities such as caller ID, settings, music player, messaging etc.

3. There is Talk About a Reversible USB Charger

Back in August 2014, rumors about a new type of USB charger for the iPhone began. They talked about the USB being part of the charger, and the charger being reversible, just like the lightning connector is. In the video below you can check out , what is believed to be the new charger. It shows an adapter that can be plugged in to the adapter both ways.

4. New Unlocking Feature: Facial Recognition

Many consumers are already waiting for the next iPhone 7 to be released. It seems that the phone’s release date is approaching faster than expected. There are several nifty features already scheduled to be included in the new device, but one of the most interesting ones is facial recognition, instead of finger recognition, for unlocking phones.

We may not know exactly how this will work, but one thing is for certain: Apple is stepping up its game and bringing new and interesting features to its next device. With facial recognition it will be impossible for outsiders to access your phone’s data. In an age where privacy has become a luxury, a feature like this will be extremely appreciated.

5. Glasses-Free 3D Display

One of the most exciting rumors for the iPhone 7 (or whatever it will be called) has to do with the 3D display. It seems that the next-generation technology will include 3D capabilities without users having to use 3D glasses. Granted, this rumor comes from a shady source that has provided with a few inaccurate Apple rumors in the past, but we have reason to believe that it may be possible.

iphone-7-concept-3

According to the Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, the iPhone 7 might sport a 3D display feature similar to what we have already seen on the Amazon Fire phone. The only problem is that the Amazon Fire didn’t perform as well as expected. Therefore, Apple should make sure that the 3D display they promote is something truly unique. Apple has already released a 3D display technology of sorts for the iOS 7 and iOS 8. It is called the Parallax Effect feature that creates an illusion of 3D screens. Nevertheless, this feature is nothing more than a gyroscope and accelerometer that generate an illusion of a 3D space.

Although consumers weren’t very excited about the Fire’s 3D capabilities, Apple is known to take mediocre technologies and transforming them into unique must-haves.

6. Holographic Projections for the Screen

This is one of the most exciting features discussed about for the new iPhone 7. As you can see from the concept art published by @crave, many people believe that the iPhone is capable of generating holographic projections. This would create a lot of screen space for avid users. Many users hoped to see this future on the last iPhone 6, but they were dissapointed. This doesn’t mean that the next iPhone can’t incorporate something like this.

BiYiuSmCIAAWKGx

Nevertheless, this is a hyper-realistic feature that may not become reality for the next generation iPhone. Maybe it will be possible in two or three years. We still find it extremely exciting.

7. Solar Cells for the iPhone 7

Proper use of renewable energy sources & protecting the environment is important nowadays, so you shouldn’t be surprised if Apple tries to do its part for the environment. There is an extremely interesting rumor about batteries with solar power. Because the iPhone 6 has sapphire glass, it may be possible for future models with the same type of glass to use it as a solar collector (granted that minor adjustments are made).

The idea is simple: solar cells attached to the body or display could recharge the phone during the day. All you have to do is place your smart-phone under sunlight. Mobile solar-charging kits are already a reality, so it wouldn’t be that far-fetched to expect something similar from Apple.

8. The Next iPhone Might be Waterproof

There is already a plethora of waterproof smart-phones available on the market, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the next generation iPhone also sports waterproof capabilities. Many smart-phones, like the Sony Xperia, have received IP67 standards certification, which means that they can be submerged at depths over one meter for more than 30 minutes.

This does not mean that they can survive in extreme situation, but it opens up new opportunities for underwater photography and videos. The iPhone 6 is far from being waterproof. As a matter of fact, it performs miserably in this department. There are several technologies available that may help you protect the phone from water (example: hydrophobic materials), but they do not make the phone waterproof. We are confident that Apple will incorporate some level of waterproof technology in in its next-generation smart-phones.

9. An Intentionally Bendable iPhone?

You have probably heard about the iPhone 6, huge, ‘Bendgate’ scandal. If you haven’t, you can check it out in the video below. There was actually one MacRumors forum user who said that his iPhone bent after only 18 hours in his pocket. Apple has had serious problems due to this scandal.

that-bendable-iphone-6-screen-isn-t-a-feature-update

Sadly, even if the iPhone 6 and 6s have performed remarkably well after drop text and torture test videos, they still have a bending problem. As a response to the reported ‘bending’ problems, Apple said that only 9 users experienced serious problems. They offered to replace the affected units which are under warranty, upon visual inspection.

But how does this affect the next iPhone 7? Apple might have a golden opportunity from this. It is clear that the iPhone 6 wasn’t meant to bend, but what if they make a phone that bends on purpose, to take the form of pants or bags, but which have the property of regaining initial form during usage? That would be something truly innovative.

10. iPhone 7 Rumored Release Date

If Apple remains true to its tradition, the iPhone 7 will be released around the time of September 2015. Even if the phone is available faster, it will probably held back until this period, before Christmas, to encourage more sales. This represents a sound marketing strategy for the company: it creates just enough rumors before release, and more than enough hype upon release to entice sales.

This concludes our rumor round-up for iPhone 7 smart-phones. If we find out more we will make sure to notify you.

GTA 5: Secrets Worth Knowing

GTA 5 Secrets

UPDATE: 12/7/2015

A fair while has passed since GTA 5 came out and the game is so massive that even so many months in, we keep finding out new things and are still surprised by a thing or two every now and then. We have a short new list of even more GTA 5 secrets you may or may have not found yet.

GTA 5 Secrets: GTA & Other Video Game Series References

  • The beating heart of the Happiness Island Statue of GTA IV makes a cameo in one of the movies you can go watch in the cinema;
  • Ever checked the face that shows on the bank notes behind the counter in the Sandy Shores Darts bar?
  • Sister boats: remember the Platypus boat from GTA IV? Its sister, the Octopus makes an appearance in GTA 5; they’re both Liberty City productions and the latter you can find on Elysian Island.
  • Rockstar’s Manhunt Masks: There is an uncanny similarity between one of the masks sold and some that you can find in the Manhunter series.
  • A very iconic phrase is sometimes uttered by Michael when he enters his house. The reason I say it is iconic is because in the GTA IV multiplayer modding community it became a trademark for all the people who didn’t use a save game and had to listen to it (it is the first thing that you hear when you start over) every single time they launched the game.

GTA 5 Secrets: The Sasquatch Peyote

The Sasquatch Peyote is a GTA 5 cosmetic item… so to say. It comes in the form of an odd cactus that, if collected, allows the player occupy the body of a Sasquatch for a limited amount of time and give them access to the model in the Director Mode actor menu, with no other functionality to speak of. Fun? Yes. Useful? Not really.

However, the reason the Sasquatch Peyote became such a controversial thing in terms of GTA 5 secrets was the very obscure and uncertain way in which a player could actually obtain the item. Even to this day we’re not sure how exactly you can get your hands on it, but the lucky ones who have found it so far have given us a list of factors that seem to be prerequisites of making it possible. Here’s what we have gathered so far:

  • You need to have finished the game with 100% completion (it’s irrelevant whether each mission is completed in 100% or not as long as you’ve done every single main and side mission available).
  • You need to have finished the mission called “The Last One” without killing the Sasquatch that appears at the end.
  • It has to be a Tuesday, and only between 5 AM and 8 AM.
  • You need to have collected all of the 27 peyote plants in the game prior to attempting to make the cactus spawn.
  • Weather should be Foggy for the PC version and Snow for the Console (either Xbox or PS) of the GTA 5.

Be warned, however, a number of players have reported a bug that will not register you collecting the Sasquatch Peyote even if you have done that, thus having the entire chase turn out to be a disappointment. I wish you the best of luck in your search and may you be protected from the misfortune of said bug.

GTA 5 Secrets: The “Subtle” Altruists Website

Out of all the websites you can visit in game in GTA 5, there is one that most likely drew your attention but you may have not spent the time to actually decipher what it is all about. When you visit www.thealtruistunite.com, you are greeted by a few blocks of text written in bright colors in what seems to be Morse Code. They even made the effort of separating the words through slashes to make it easier for anyone willing to figure it out.

In case you’re not the biggest fan of spending too long of a time deciphering codes, we took the liberty of doing it for you. The website reads the following:

First paragraph: The industrial revolution has been a disaster to the stability of the human race.

Second paragraph: Almost all would agree that continued focus on the superiority of the sub 40 younger generaiton will result in the catastrophic and tragic end to our civilization.

Third paragraph: Man is a nocturnal animal by nature.

Fourth paragraph: Those who exist in the industrial-technological society, bathing in sunlight and electronics suffer from psychological problems.

Fifth paragraph: Hypervitaminosis D causes abnormally high concentrations of calcium, which can cause harm to the heart, kidneys and bones. Toxic concentrations are a direct result of exposure to the sun.

Sixth paragraph: Crowding causes stress and aggression.

Seventh paragraph: Primitive societies, ones where clothes and tools of the industrial revolution were not needed provided a stable framework for the function of society.

Eighth paragraph: One cannot complain about the decay of traditional values yet embrace technology.

Ninth paragraph: A man as an individual, working with an autonomous group of individuals, all of whom are naked in spirit and in the cloth, remains healthy to himself and others.

Tenth paragraph: Sub 40s only exist as subsistence to the altruistic man and gains life from consuming them.

Eleventh paragraph: Ban clothes. Ban lies. Ban deceit. Eat of the flesh. Drink of the blood. We shall be free once more. Because we know. Altruism. The greatest good, for the greatest generation. We shall boom again.

While my first reaction at this point of our GTA 5 secrets list was to chuckle to myself at the “so difficult” to uncover mystery, I had to admit that the hidden messages got really dark, really fast. Not to mention that I’m certain that was there someone who really put time into it, they would find more symbolic clues and secrets tucked in that. Not to mention that it’s 11 strings of text. I’m sure that means something too.

UPDATE: 14.05.2015

The team at AFP thought that it was time for an update to the GTA 5: Secrets Worth Knowing article. Easter eggs, references to movies, and pop-culture, aliens and UFOs,  secret vehicle locations, and websites that you can go on.

Oh, and I almost forgot –  we also have cheats!

GTA 5 Secrets: Easter Eggs

  • Paranormal Easter Eggs

You can find a whale skeleton, the Ghost of Mount Gordo, BigFoot, and even a zombie.

– Whale Skeleton

You can find the bones if you go on the west coast of San Andreas, south of Chumash. Submerse yourself underwater, and do a search in the area that is shown in the picture below. I would love a PC mode that would bring it back to life to terrorize San Andreas.

GTA 5 Secrets - Paranormal Easter Egg - Whale Skeleton

– The Ghost of Mount Gordo

Well, this Easter Egg is quite uhm, shocking to say the least. There’s a good reason it made it to the top of the GTA 5 Secrets list. The ghost only comes out at night between 23:00 and 00:00, and only on Mount Gordo – north of the lighthouse.

As soon as you approach her, the ghost will disappear, and you’ll have to wait for another day to meet her again.

If you look carefully, next to the ghost, on the ground, written in blood, there’s the name Jock. It rings a bell doesn’t it? Well, the first time Trevor meets Nigel he mistakes him for Jock Cranley, a famous stunt man that is currently running for Governor of San Andreas.

Following the line of Letter Scraps collectibles, you can search the Internet for Who Killed Lenora Johnson, and you’ll unravel the killing. There’s an article that states that the former stunt man, now wannabe politician, pushed his wife Lenora off the cliff.

Check the map below for the exact location.

GTA 5 Secrets - Paranormal Easter Egg - Ghost of Mount Gordo

– Big Foot

If you can’t find him in real-life, who says you can’t find him in the game? Now, there isn’t an exact location where you can find him, because it seems that he only appears during the Predator Mission. When you switch your scope to Infra-Red, pay attention what’s hiding behind the trees.

GTA 5 Secrets - Paranormal Easter Egg - BigFoot

Those who finish the game and reach 100% completion will be awarded with a special mission that task the player to hunt and kill BigFoot.

– The Lovable Zombie

Go to Vinewood hills, near the Cinema, and look for someone that looks beaten-up, drugged, and swaying all over the place. No, it’s not Macaulay Caulkin, it’s just an ordinary zombie – I know, they are easily confused.

But here’s why we added this to our GTA 5 secrets list. You can even have a conversation with him – it turns out that zombies are just nice guys. Who would’ve thought?

If you want to photograph him and send the image to your buddies you need to cough up $10 – a zombie has to make a living somehow, right?

Ow, and be careful with stun guns near him – he is extremely vulnerable to them.

  • Other cool Easter Eggs

–  The Playboy Mansion

It’s like the developers went to Hugh Hefner’s crib for a huge party every weekend for a year, and after that they made an almost perfect replica in-game. I said almost, because you can’t see the sorrow and despair, and you can’t even smell the wrong decisions that were made in that villa. You can find the Mansion in Vinewood hills.

GTA 5 Secrets - Easter Egg - Playboy Mansion

– The Face of Mount Chilliad

It’s definitely one of the developers, or someone a developer hates.GTA 5 Secrets - Easter Egg - Face on Mount Chilliad

GTA 5 Secrets: References to Movies, Music and Games – Basically Pop-Culture

Our list of GTA 5 Secrets continues with our very own extensive collection of more or less obscure references to popular facts from a wide variety of sources.

  • You can hear Trevor occasionally shout Ten Points when he beats civilians to the pulp – it was the original scoring system in Grand Theft Auto.
  • CJ, the main protagonist of GTA: San Andreas, can be seen in the hood riding a dirt bike, and chasing a train – God, I hate that mission. Also, music by two of the characters from GTA: San Andreas, can be found in Franklin’s room – when he was still living with his dear aunt.

GTA 5 Secrets - References - Read Dead Redemption

  • In Red Dead Redemption, Marton’s son, Jack, mentioned that he was going to write a book about his father’s adventures, and the perils of the wild west. The Read Dead book can be seen in Franklin’s bookshelf, once you unlock his sweet villa in the hills. Some of the commercials that you’ve seen on TV used in-game footage from Rockstar’s cowboy game – the Piswasser commercial portrays McFarlne’s ranch perfectly. You can find John Marston’s farm if you go south of the penitentiary.
  • Rockstar’s unreleased game Agent has a cameo – a license plate with the tag 463NT can be seen on an old-timey car. So keep your eyes peeled! You never know when one of the GTA 5 secrets actually turns into a suggestion of what is to come.
  • The Max Payne reference is the biggest one of them all. Michael looks exactly like Payne when wearing a grey suit, and pair that with a scruffy looking beard, and presto, they’re the same person. Also, both of the characters have the ability to slow down time.

GTA 5 Secrets - References - Max Payne

  • There is even a Dark Souls reference. When Michael is doing Yoga with his wife, you can hear Praise the Sun – a direct reference to Knight Solaire and the Warrior of Sunlight Covenant. In Dark Souls, Praise the Sun is an emote you can do. Although, if I were you, I would be more careful on keeping myself alive than taunting creatures from the Abyss using emotes.
  • One of the funniest references has to be the Turtle Kid one. There are random NPCs scattered across the city that quietly say “I Like Turtles”.

  • You’ve probably guessed this one. The Breaking Bad reference when the players are being re-introduced to Trevor. The unstable sociopath makes a remark to those who cook meth in motor homes.
  • One of my favourites is the Community reference – the TV show created by Dan Harmon, that revolves the idea of students, of various ages, forming a study-group at one of the worst community colleges on Earth. In the Strangers and Freaks Target Practice mission, one of the objectives is titled Pop! Pop! – Magnitude’s catchphrase in the TV show.
  • Ryan Gosling’s iconic jacket from Drive appears in GTA V. Well, somehow distorted. You can find it at the Discount Clothing Store in Grapeseed, located at the back left corner of the store. No, it’s not a yellow scorpion. It keeps the colour, but changes the insect, into a crustacean – a crab!

GTA 5 Secrets - References - Drive

  • The dude abides. In this case, Trevor is the dude. Occasionally you can hear him say You’re out of your element to his victims – it’s a famous line from The Big Lebowski.
  • The challenge Under the Bridge that tasks the player to go under all of the bridges in Los Santos is a direct reference to Red Hot Chili Pepper’s song called Under the Bridge. A track about the city of Los Angeles, and how heroin addicts gathered under bridges – the only place that felt safe. Well, Trevor is constantly on something, so it makes a perfect reference – more so, the first time you have the chance of flying under a bridge is with Trevor.
  • Clap Trap from the famous Borderlands franchise can be found in the city, but a little bit changed I’m afraid. A shell of his former self, Clap Trap is now a trash bin.
  • Adventure Time doesn’t shy away from a reference either. While listening to the radio, one of the news segments on Weasel News talks about how people are cosplaying, and one of the show’s host calls a costume Princess Robot Bubblegum. Anyone can find something familiar in between all of these GTA 5 secrets.
  • The 3 monkeys’ of Gandhi reference can be seen during the mission Blitz Play when at one point during the cut-scene Michael, Franklin, and Trevor cover their ears, mouth and eyes respectively.

GTA 5 Secrets - References - Twin Peaks

  • The Twin Peaks reference can be seen in Tongva Valley, where there resides an owl statue which has a sign that says TWO HOOTS FALLS. It’s an homage to the mysterious owl in the series, and also the water fall is the one seen in the intro for the TV show.

GTA 5 Secrets: Aliens and UFO’s

GTA 5 Secrets - Aliens - Symbols

What kind of GTA 5 secrets list would this have been without some extraterrestrial action? Alien symbols, UFOs flying cautiously in our sky, and kidnapping innocent Los Santos citizens, strange codes, and a mystery that just frustrates players.

There are so many mysteries that yet remain unanswered in the game – perhaps a DLC may enlighten us, but until then, let’s speculate and debate on all of these GTA 5 secrets!

Take a look at that YouTube clip first, and then let’s talk alien-stuff.

So, once you finish the game, and have a completion percentage of 100%, UFOs can be randomly, and not so randomly, seen in the city. Since its release, dedicated players have tasked themselves to find out the truth, because the truth is out there. Online communities haven been filled with players swapping notes, coordinates, and info regarding glyphs, symbols, and the occurrence rate of flying saucers.

Reddit members have been hard at work unravelling, or at least trying to unravel, the alien GTA 5 secrets.

You can start your search by going to Mount Chiliad – at the very top of it lays an abandoned Cable Car station, and on one of its walls there are these symbols.

GTA 5 Secrets - Aliens - Map

On the back platform you can read Come back when your story is complete.

With the PC release, mystery detectives on Reddit have paired their powers with the modding community, and spawned themselves under the map. They’ve even discovered a way to get inside a flying saucer, that leads to a portal of sorts – maybe hidden content that would be available sometime in the near future.

Kudos to Redditor TMBSTruth, we have a detailed map to the locations of hidden chambers.

GTa 5 Secrets - Aliens - Detailed Map

As of 14.05.2015 there have been 4 UFO sightings in Los Santos – the 100% sure sighting is located atop Mount Chiliad, while raining, and the clock hits 3.00 AM. Just as a reminder, you need to have a 100% completion percentage in order to see the mysterious space ship. This one remains one of the most baffling GTA 5 secrets as of right now.

Also, there’s this underwater UFO that can be explored – it’s a little bit tricky getting to it, but you’ll manage if you pay attention to the clip.

GTA 5 Secrets: Secret Vehicle Locations

GTA 5 Secrets - Secret Vehicles

You can unlock a ton of vehicles, but first off, you need to know where they at. Here’s a list with the rarest toys. Not so much part of the GTA 5 secrets but still a helpful hand if you’re looking to grab them all.

  • Nagasaki Blazer – Sandy Shores
  • Tractor Utility –  Light house over some water, there is a house out the front is a small tree
  • Sand King – Vespucci Beach
  • Space Docker – Can only be found as Franklin in Sandy Shores
  • Submersible Mini Sub – It’s free with a dock purchase
  • P-996 Lazer Fighter Jet – Fort Zancudo
  • Park Ranger SUV– Near Bolingbroke Penitentiary
  • FIB Buffalo – Can be found in Grand Senora Desert at around 10:00 AM
  • FIB SUV – Can be found in Grand Senora Desert at around 10:00 AM

GTA 5 Secrets: All the Websites

There is an undoubtedly satisfying feeling when you revel into the extents that a game has gone to truly make it an amazing experience. Once again, not necessarily GTA 5 secrets, but here’s a complete list of all the websites you can access in game.

GTA 5 Secrets: What is left in the pool

GTA 5 secrets aren’t often leaked, therefore we’ve gathered some very interesting and convincing secrets of the new GTA 5 that is effective for all types of consoles.

  • Shark Attack: If you swim around in the ocean for long enough eventually a shark will begin circling you and finally start attacking you. If the shark kills you an achievement is unlocked.
  • Cheaper Weapons: Completing all the Ammu-Nation gun store challenges will give you discounts on all weapons and upgrades. For all bronze medals you get 10% off, for all silver medals unlocked you get 15% off, and for all gold medals unlocked you get 25% off.
  • A Mysterious figure: A Yeti is somewhere out in the woods, and can be spotted in a certain mission. Seems that real life mysteries and stories that have excited humanity over time turn into GTA 5 secrets too!
  • The Mansion: There is a complete exact replica of the Playboy mansion in Vine wood.
  • Gang Warfare: If you attack any gang members on grove street the entire street will get aggressive and they will all attack you.
  • The Shrink:  Michael will talk about things that have just happened in the game to his psychiatrist, he’ll even mention that he killed someone on the way over if you hit a pedestrian with your car right before visiting.
  • No Stalking:  If you follow any of the main characters (Trevor, Michael, and Franklin) for long enough they will eventually get angry and try to attack you.
  • They Will Bill You: If you try to kill any of the main characters or side characters they will simply go to the hospital and charge you for their bill.
  • Saving Each Other: If you shoot a police officer in the leg during a gunfight another officer will attempt to drag him behind cover so that he’s safer.
  • Road Rage: You can flip off over drivers while in a car by switching to the “unarmed” weapon and “firing”, the characters will sometimes swear while doing this.
  • Bad Radio: If you try listening to certain radio stations as Trevor, he’ll get angry and change the station on his own.
  • Attention Grabber: Doing donuts or burning rubber (or doing other attention worthy things) will have NPCs pull out their cell phones and start filming you.
  • The Space Car: If you collect all the missing space ship parts a special secret dune buggy unlocks. It’s called the space docker and even comes with its own sound effects.
  • Mid Robbery: It’s possible to walk in on an NPC robbing a store, they usually take all the money from the register, and you can stop them by attacking them.

  • Hidden Alien UFO: There is a sunken alien spaceship off the northern coast of Los Santos; you can visit it by diving down with a scuba suit.

  • Amusement Park: You can ride the roller-coaster and Ferris wheel on the pier. You can sit through the whole ride or you can skip to the end.
  • Realistic Birds: Birds can be sucked through the engine of a plane while flying. They can also be hit by any other part of the plane and killed.

  • Empty the Tank: Shooting a cars gas tank will dump out a line of fuel, you can shoot this line to start a fire or you can wait for the tank to empty and then the car will actually not drive as it’s out of fuel. Maybe we should call it realism instead of part of GTA 5 secrets.
