Apple is unveiling a new iPhone after a long time period of two years.  The company launched iPhone 5 on the 30 of the month of July 2012. The great success of iPhone 5 made it nearly impossible for the manufacturers to design something far better than this phone.

Although the company is all set to  reveal iPhone in September but rumors are that the product would not be able to reach markets till next few weeks after its launch. The reason behind this is that the suppliers would not be  able to manufacture enough iPhone 6 till the expected date.

Nevertheless, hopes of people are high therefore for all the impatient  people following are a few features of iPhone 6:

Memory:

This time Apple altered its own tradition of 32 GB  storage option in iPhone. Usually the iPhones are offered with a 32Gb internal storage. As per the previous rumors, Apple is also  planning to unveil iPhone 6 with an option of 128 GB of built-in memory and named it as iPhone 6 L. However, the company has not verified any of these rumors yet.

Design:

As far as the design is concerned, the case makers revealed some of the cases which will be available for iPhone 6. These cases suggest that the new device would be thinner and lighter in weight. Every rumor  related to the design of iPhone 6 points out towards a super slim cell phone which will be even thinner from the 1.6mm Huawei Ascend P. The company manufactured these thinner and lighter iPhones through a special liquid metal. Apple has utilized its rights for the use of this particular material.

Screen:

Earlier almost every single rumor proposed  that the screen of iPhone 6 will relatively larger than the screen of iPhone 5. Apple will uncover iPhone 6 with two sizes, one with 4.7 inches and the other with 5.5 inches. The size of the second iPhone will make it stand in the row of “phablets”. The leaked pictures of iPhone 6 have verified this news of larger screen.

Camera:

Apple will certainly improve the quality of iPhone 5 through some new special softwares. The rumors are that the company is enhancing its camera up to 10 Megapixel with an f/1.8 aperture. The analysts have also predicted different new options for picture editing and image stabilization.

Google Nexus 5- Big Drop In Price

September 4, 2014 By Michael Turner Leave a Comment

Nexus 5  is relatively better than various other smart phones which came into the market this fall.  Google launched the line of Nexus four years ago in 2010. The foremost cellphone of this series was the Nexus One which came with an Android 2.1 éclair. Subsequently, the company keeps upgrading the version of Android in these cell phones.

Up till now the company has released five smart phones under this range. Google Nexus 5 was launched last year in the month of October and shortly after its release it was marked as “the best product offered by Google”.

It is a trend of the company to keep the new Nexus smart phone in the market for a time period of twelve months. It’s been a year since the launch of Nexus 5  so people should begin to count the days of the launch of new Nexus.

Irrespective of its age, Nexus 5 is still a perfect choice for many smart phones users. The wide range of Nexus phone is always the first choice for the people who wish to see new things in the market.

Google has set up a large number of Nexus deals in the past few weeks. The latest deal from Ebay  is quite appealing. This novel Nexus 5 deal brings 16B unlocked Nexus 5 (the D820 model) down to $314.99. It shows a noteworthy difference of  nearly $34.01. However, some people would not regard it as a lot of money, but they will surely be amazed to know that it is a tax-free deal. Nevertheless, it is a tax-free deal outside New Jersey, which comes with free transportation.

Generally, Google cost $350 for its 16Gb Nexus 5 and $400 for its 32GB Nexus 5 along with the surcharges. This new Nexus 5 deal is free of all these surcharges and reduce a large number of money. It offers a discount of almost $ 34.01.

Presently, Google’s flagship present a beautiful 5 inch 1080p display, a speedy quad core processor, solid 8MP camera with OIS, long lasting black matte design, Android 4.4.4 KitKat and much more. The best part is that soon the company plans to upgrade it to Android L.  Currently, it is the best Android smartphone available in the market. However, rumors propose that a brand new Nexus 6 will swap it till the end of this year.

As per the rumors, Google will alliance with Motorola for the production of Nexus 6.  Motorola has not manufactured any of the Google’s smart phone or tablet.  Motorola’s edition of Nexus is expected to contain a fingerprint sensor into this new design. It will make Motorola the first company to launch a smartphone with a fingerprint sensor.

The specification of Nexus 6 which has a code name Motorola shamo are leaked. According to the rumors, it would be the first device of Google which will function on the Android L that is the latest version of Android up till now. Whenever Goolge releases a new version of software, it provides a hardware as well.

The device will have a 5.2 in 2560×1440 screen which would be similar as the display of LG G3. The special Shamu handset will have a screen of 5.9 inch display because of which it can be considered as a phablet.

This new product will appear on a GFX bench  and it will also have a 24GB of storage. Motorola will offer a front camera of 2 Megapixel for this device and rear camera of 12 MegaPixel.
The rumors suggest that Snapdragon 800 processor will perform similar to the S5, Xperia Z2, HTC One and One Plus One.  The people who expect to see a QHD screen will be disappointed with Nexus 6 since the device would not have it.

Google has not verified any news related to its launch date, but rumors put it in the month of November. It would be released with the Nexus 8 tablets which is also expected in the third or fourth quarter of the month.

These dates show that the company intended to unveil this device after the revelation of iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Till then the iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4 will be the rival of Nexus 5 and later on, it Nexus 6 will join this competition as well.

Scientists – Protein structure proposes new treatment methods

September 3, 2014 By Nancy Young Leave a Comment

Five decades ago scientist through an electron microscope unveiled that there is a a blob like structure present inside the cell.  This structure, form,  moves and then disappear within the cells.

Although the scientist discovered the existence of these blobs nearly half a century ago but still most of the things related to them are unidentified. Later on, scientists came to recognize that this mysterious structure is called “assemblages”. It has a cloud like structure filled with protein, which plays quite a significant role in the lifetime of a cell.  It possesses the ability to provide new options in the treatment of cancer and other diseases.

Two researchers Jeffery Toretsky and Peter Wright  invited several other researchers from numerous arenas of study in order to examine the function of these blobs in health and disease.

The study, based on this research is printed in The Journal of Cell Biology with an entitle of “Assemblages: Functional units formed by cellular phase separation”.

Toretsky and Wright stated that the this mixture of researchers who belongs to different discipline will provide more awareness of these assemblages and their purpose. This study and manipulation of assemblages will pave the way to the understanding of biological processes. Moreover, the research will determine the influence of assemblages on human health.

Furthermore, they said that the blob like structure are generally composed of fundamentally disordered proteins. These proteins usually search for each other and form into assemblages, and this procedure is known as “Phase separation”.

The study connects the very basic biological phenomena of protein interaction with the ability of new drug discovery.

September 2, 2014 By Karen Jackson Leave a Comment

The iOS release date of September 17 is arriving very soon. Apple is calling the newest iOS 8 update as the ‘the biggest iOS release ever.’ Apple has already released the Gold Master edition of iOS which is the final beta edition before and now the time has come for the releasing the final edition for the public.
[ps_prices]
The appearance of the iOS 8 is not different than that of iOS 7. However, it is packed with plenty of new features and improvements. You can know about the best features of iOS 8 through this link.

List of iOS 8 Supported Devices

iOS 8 is not available for all the existing iDevices. If you own any of the following devices, such as iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad Mini, iPad Mini with Retina Display and iPod Touch 5G.

If you are using any of the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod that is not listed here, your device will not receive the new iOS 8 upgrade.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that were announced on Sept 9 and are poised to release on Sept 19 are going to come out preloaded with the iOS 8. Even though iPhone 6 models are shipped with the new iOS 8, owners with older iPhones are going to receive the iOS 8 earlier on Sept 17.

iOS 8 Release Time

The iOS 8 release date is fast approaching and eager fans are waiting for the update to be made available by Apple. Well, Apple has not revealed the precise iOS 8 release time but going by the time pattern that Apple has stuck for the previous iOS 8 versions, it is quite evident that iOS 8 will become available for download at 10AM Pacifict Time in the US.

The approximate iOS 8 release time for other areas of US include 11AM MST, 12PM CST and 1PM EST. For those living in the European countries, the iOS 8 update can be accessed at 5PM GMT, 6PM BST, 7PM CET and 8PM EET.

For people living in the eastern countries like Hong Kong China, Korea and Japan, the approximate release times are 1AM, 1AM, 2AM and 2AM, respectively on Sept 19.

Last Day to Access Jailbroken iOS 7.1.2

As we all know very well, jailbreaking is a process that removes limitations of the operating system which gives you access to new and hidden features. The iOS 8 which is soon going to release is not jailbrokenyet. It would be take at least couple of weeks to jailbreak the iOS 8.

Currently, the most recent edition of iOS is the iOS 7.1.2 version. It has been jailbroken. So, if you are going to update your iDevice to iOS 8, you won’t have access to jailbroken features. Hence, today is your only day to jailbreak your iOS 7.1.2 running iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

Once the iOS 8 gets released, the iOS 7.1.2 will no longer be available for signing in. It means users without the iOS 7.1.2 update will be stuck on the existing firmware version and they will have no other option but to update to iOS 8.

Installation Instructions for iPhone, iPad and iPod

1. Be Ready With Your Apple ID

Owners for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch are already aware of their Apple ID. When you are going to run the iOS 8 for the first time, you will be required to sign in with your username and password.

Apple ID is also necessary when you want to connect your iDevice to iTunes to install iOS 8 or if you want to install iOS 8 through OTA.

2. Power Up Your Device

The iOS 8 update can take some time to finish. If your device is low on battery, it may die before the installation finishes. If your battery expires during installation, your device can run into problems or may roll back to older version that was running on your device.

Hence, you need to fully charge the battery before you access the update. You can keep your device connected to the wall socket while the installation process is in progress.

3. Update Your Apps

You will have to update your apps after you install the iOS 8 update. However, we recommend updating your apps before you install the iOS 8. There is a possibility that some of the apps present on your device may behave weirdly after the update. Hence, it would be worthwhile to update the most frequently used apps before you go for the iOS 8 update.

4. Backup Your Device

You are required to download and run the latest version of iTunes on your device. Taking a backup is quite important because in case the update fails midway, you will be able to restore your handset through the backup you carried out.

To back up your device, you can go to Settings > iCloud> Backup & Storage > Backup Now.

5. Update iTunes

You are required to download and run the latest version of iTunes on your device. To update to the latest edition of iTunes on a Windows PC, you need to launch iTunes and then go to Help > Check for Updates.

To get the most recent version of iTunes for Mac, you need to open iTunes and then go to iTunes > Check for Updates.

6. Free up Storage Space

The older iOS 7 required users to have a free storage space of 700MB on their device. For iOS 8, we recommend you to have at least 1GB free space. The installation won’t begin if you do not have sufficient storage space on your device.

To see what’s consuming your storage space, you can go to Settings > General > Usage. The device will take few seconds to you show you what’s eating up your storage space. You can then delete the unwanted items from your device.

7. Install iOS 7.1.2

As we mentioned before, ideally your handset should be running on iOS 7.1.2 to receive the iOS 8 update. Hence, you need to go to Settings > General > Software Update and see if the iOS 7.1.2 update is available for you. If it is there, you should get it installed. If it is not there, most probably you are running on the most recent edition of iOS on your device.

8. Choose Your Installation Option

Last year, when eager iDevice users tried to access the iOS 7 download, they encountered an error message. The reason the error message popped up was millions of people were trying to access the download at the same time from Apple’s servers.

This time around too, millions of people are going to access the iOS 8 download simultaneously as it is made available by Apple. There are two installation options available: OTA (over-the-air) method and iTunes method.

How to Install iOS 8 on iPhone

You can either choose to install the iOS 8 through OTA or iTunes. The iPhones older than iPhone 4S will not support iOS 8 update.

OTA Method and iTunes Method

The OTA method is allows you to wirelessly download the iOS 8 update. This option is recommended for those users who can access the update through Wi-Fi or through unlimited data plan.

On your iPhone, you need to go to Settings > General > Software Update. The iOS 8 update if available for you will be shown to you. Since millions of people will be downloading simultaneously, you may experience longer download times.

For the iTunes method, you need to establish connection between your iPhone and Mac or Windows PC using the USB cable and then launch the iTunes software.

Your iPhone will be shown on your iTunes. After clicking on your device, you can click on ‘Check for Updates.’ You will then see the download option which clicks on start the installation.
[ps_prices]

How to Install iOS 8 on iPad and iPad Mini

Except for the original iPad, all the existing editions of iPad and iPad Mini will support the new iOS 8.

OTA Method and iTunes Method

Just like the procedure goes iPhones, the same procedure applies for installing iOS 8 on iPads. You can either choose to install through OTA or iTunes.

OTA requires you to check for update through Settings > General > Software Update on your iPad. The iTunes method requires checking for iOS 8 update by establishing connection between your iPad and iPad Mini with your Mac or Windows PC using a USB cable.

How to Install iOS 8 on Your iPod Touch

Except for the 5th generation iPod Touch, none of the older iPod Touch models will support the iOS 8 update.

OTA Method and iTunes Method

Even iPod Touch users can also check for the update through OTA by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

The iTunes method for iPod Touch requires you to connect your device to your PC through USB cable and check for iOS update.

Martha, the last passenger pigeon died 100 years ago.

September 2, 2014 By Cristopher Hall Leave a Comment

Monday was flagged as 100 years since the death of the last passenger pigeon. 100 years elapsed since the annihilation of a bird which was once found in profusion.

The last female passenger pigeon known as Martha died in a cage of the Cincinnati Zoo in the United States. She died at 12 noon due to which bird keepers paused the clock on the tower located outside the Victorian bird house at ZSL London Zoo.

A long time ago the passenger pigeon was considered as the world’s most abundant bird. Over a hundred million of birds used to darken the sky daily.

The massive rush in hunting and deforestation compel the birds to disappear from the globe in only a few decades. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most dramatic losses of a species in the human history.

Ken Norris, director of science at ZSL stated that this 100th anniversary is not merely for the remembrance of Martha. It is also notable to get attention to the dilemma of various other species who is still dealing with extinction due to our activities.

Moreover, he informed that currently ZSL is working on a large number of preservation and research projects in order to stop future extinctions.

Mark Avery, former conservation director at the RSPB wrote in his book that the passenger pigeons vanished from the world in a very short time period of one human generation. The lesson people should get from this Martha is that no species is secure until and unless we form some policies to conserve them.
