Cygnus Spacecraft Safely Berthed at the International Space Station

July 17, 2014 By Cristopher Hall Leave a Comment

Wednesday morning witnessed the successful berthing of Orbital Sciences’ Cygnus spacecraft at the International Space Station. The spacecraft which was carrying 3300 pounds of cargo including small satellites and student experiments was launched on Sunday evening and at 3:00 am ET the spacecraft made its approach to the station. The entire berthing sequence was completed at 8:53 am.
The cargo delivery by Orbital stems from a $1.9 billion contract with NASA and this was the second out of eight total deliveries that Orbital will provide under the contract. The spacecraft is to remain attached with the station till August 15 when it will be filled with trash and released to burn in earth’s atmosphere.
The craft was named after a former NASA astronaut and Orbital employee, SS Janice Voss who passed away in 2012.

The ISS Commander Steve Swanson stated that Janice was a seventh crew member who had just joined them and talked about how Janice Voss devoted her life to space. He said that Janice’s legacy continued in space through the spacecraft.

United Arab Emirates always desire to be on the top of everything like it’s one of the richest countries of the world, have already made the tallest tower of the world, has the world fourth top city, and has the biggest oil company.

In spite of all these things they are not tired yet and they have plans to send the first Arab spaceship to Mars in 2021. The name of that spaceship is not yet mentioned to the press. Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum says that they wish to do this in order to prove the world that they are competent and can make contribution in the line of technology as well.

Numerous other first world countries have done this experiment but most of them are ineffective. If this plan becomes successful then it will definitely shed a really positive signs on country’s economy and will polish the talent of youngsters in this field.

Data Center Revenue Expands as early Haswell Xeon Buyers Push Intel

July 16, 2014 By Cristopher Hall Leave a Comment

The upcoming Haswell Xeon E5 v3 processor from Intel has already generated profits and revenue in the Data Center Group by the end of the seconds quarter.

Haswell-Xeon-Buyers-Push-Intel
For those of you who are unaware, Data Center a part of Intel that makes processors, motherboards, and chipsets that are used in servers, switches and storage arrays. Even though the PC Client Group is much larger in size, the Data Center has been growing at an impressive rate.
In fact, both are quite essential for Intel as they need PC and other device volumes to aid in cutting down costs for the production of servers, switches and storage chips.
Brian Krzanich, Intel’s CEO has reported that the Data Centre Group set an all-time record for sales in the second quarter. Intel has increased the Data Center Group revenue over $1 billion over a year. Even if it’s difficult to wrap your head around, it still sounds impressive.
It may be difficult to imagine the tremendous increase in revenue considering the new server chip is set to be launched in September.
Early adopters if the Hawswell Xeon E5 v3 chips have conspired to pump up revenues even before they officially come to market by getting the chips first, these include HPC customers and cloud builders. This is indicative of the fact that now, as the IT industry and technology in general advances; customers will be able to move to the front and get their way. Notwithstanding the professional envy and the disadvantage to the rest, these seemingly small preferential advantages add up to a substantial advantage, else they wouldn’t be really increasing the revenues of the technological giant.

A good News by NASA for all the Space Lovers

July 16, 2014 By Cristopher Hall Leave a Comment

Humans are always eager to find whether there is a life outside the planet Earth or not. It seems like our scientist of NASA are soon going to give a good news.

Recently, NASA has announced that they are incredibly close to discover more planets like Earth or signs of life in any one of the planets. In 2009, an astronaut John Grunsfeld said that it’s a dream to find out any planet similar to Earth. NASA’s task is to examine other planets and it starts step by step firstly, observing all the ground-based things and then comes the turn of space based things. They are looking into stars as well for a slight indication of human existence since several stars contain that liquid which is responsible for the living of human being. Matt Mountain stated that it is recently discovered that our galaxy has 100 million other planets.

He gave another good news that it is not yet an authentic statement but yes, they have found signs of life on one of the ice moons. As we all know that the tiny plants are more complicated to study since they shine quite brightly. Therefore, for the confirmation of this report they are planning to launch a which will help them out whether a star has that particular atmospheric gase or not. They are more enthusiastic to find that gas because it is an essential element for the creation of life in a planet.

July 16, 2014 By Cristopher Hall Leave a Comment

Vergesslicher Mann

Some people worries more about it even when they forget where they have kept their money and they remember it after few hours. They begin to consider themselves an early stage patient of dementia but they are not aware of the fact that it can merely be confirmed through certain tests. Even the early phase of dementia comes with bigger problems than all these stuff forgetting things.

You should begin to worry when you do not even recall the things you have forgotten. The worst part of dementia is that it can cannot be cured in older age and only way to avoid it is to alter your lifestyle for instance take healthy food, do exercise as often as possible, throw out all the cigarette packets from your life, try to get better education etc. Yes! The option of better education surprises everyone a bit but it is verified through research. As far as the healthy food is concerned, it is said to cut down obesity from your life which is only achievable when you change your diet. This alteration in diet should also have some less amount of sugar of sweet since diabetics is regarded as the major source of dementia.

A Ground Breaking Find in Paleontology

July 16, 2014 By Cristopher Hall Leave a Comment

The largest flying dinosaur has been discovered in northeastern China in the Liaoning Province. Its been given the name Changyuraptor. The discovery of the fossil was made in China and has wide spreading paleontological implications which we shall discuss later in this piece.

Paleontology

The flying dinosaur was four feet long and is believed to have weighed five pounds. Interestingly, the entire body of these avian beasts were covered with feathers and they have been estimated to have lived one-twenty five million years ago.

The Changyuraptor had four wings which provided it with greater stability and direction control in flight. The tails on these fascinating creatures is estimated to be twelve inches long. Paleontologists suggest that the presence of over-sized feathers which cover the entire body of the archaic animal may have had an important role in landing.

Moving on to the paleontological implications; this piece of information may be suggestive of a more profound conclusion. That dinosaurs took flight much earlier than the evolution of birds.

In fact, Alan Turner of Stony Brook University points out that there are a number of features that experts had long associated with birds which now seem to have evolved from dinosaurs much before the evolution of the birds, examples include; nesting behavior, hollow bones, feathers and now probably even flight!

A micro-analysis of the fossil revealed that the dinosaur must have been a fully grown adult because of which the size of the dinosaur can be generalized to the average adult of the ancient dinosaur.

This amazing discovery is also indicative of the fact that flight was not restricted to smaller animals and even dinosaurs as big as the Changyuraptor experienced flight. Perhaps even larger flying dinosaurs existed millions of years ago?

Birds can now almost conclusively be called the descendants of dinosaurs but far more evidence is needed to completely understand the degree, detail and dynamics of dinosaur flight.

Illegal Freshwater Turtle Harvests get three Men Arrested

July 16, 2014 By Cristopher Hall Leave a Comment

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission had banned the harvest of all local wild turtles for commercial purposes in 2009.
However in Lakeland Florida, wild life officials were forced to charge three men illegally selling, harvesting and buying 2100 pounds of fresh water turtles. The illegality was justified in the rationale that people should be able to see freshwater turtles in the wild and harvest them on a recreational basis rather than commercially.
According to Lt. George Wilson investigators in Polk and Seminole counties caught these mean poaching turtles. The turtles were to be sold illegally to a farm in Okeechobee. Thus, the men were charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors.
