Detailed Map of the Mars Revealed Ever Since the First Time

July 16, 2014 By Kenneth Scott Leave a Comment

Thousand years ago people cannot even think that a time will come when they can have a look at the Map of planet Mars. Yes! Now it is possible for everyone to see that Map and figure out whether it is exactly like what they have always imagined or not? This is merely possible because of Arizona State University (ASU) and U.S geological survey (UGS).

They work together for 16 years approximately and formed first ever detailed, colorful map of Mars. They used special equipment, like heat sensing camera, in order to observe the planet properly. It is said that they have utilized 20,000 night time temperature different images for the creation of maximum resolution map of Mars.

The best point is that every man on Earth can access it through internet and a comprehensive description is also mentioned under it so that even a non-professional person can understand it. For instance, it is indicated over there that the region which are darker are cooler at night and have particles of dust and fine sand. On the other hand, the brighter areas are warmer. This map also cleared several misconception related to planet mars and gave more energy to the people who worked on it. It will function as a catalyst for engineers, scientist and will very much help them in further researchers.

Data Center Revenue Expands as early Haswell Xeon Buyers Push Intel

July 16, 2014 By Cristopher Hall Leave a Comment

The upcoming Haswell Xeon E5 v3 processor from Intel has already generated profits and revenue in the Data Center Group by the end of the seconds quarter.

Haswell-Xeon-Buyers-Push-Intel
For those of you who are unaware, Data Center a part of Intel that makes processors, motherboards, and chipsets that are used in servers, switches and storage arrays. Even though the PC Client Group is much larger in size, the Data Center has been growing at an impressive rate.
In fact, both are quite essential for Intel as they need PC and other device volumes to aid in cutting down costs for the production of servers, switches and storage chips.
Brian Krzanich, Intel’s CEO has reported that the Data Centre Group set an all-time record for sales in the second quarter. Intel has increased the Data Center Group revenue over $1 billion over a year. Even if it’s difficult to wrap your head around, it still sounds impressive.
It may be difficult to imagine the tremendous increase in revenue considering the new server chip is set to be launched in September.
Early adopters if the Hawswell Xeon E5 v3 chips have conspired to pump up revenues even before they officially come to market by getting the chips first, these include HPC customers and cloud builders. This is indicative of the fact that now, as the IT industry and technology in general advances; customers will be able to move to the front and get their way. Notwithstanding the professional envy and the disadvantage to the rest, these seemingly small preferential advantages add up to a substantial advantage, else they wouldn’t be really increasing the revenues of the technological giant.

A good News by NASA for all the Space Lovers

July 16, 2014 By Cristopher Hall Leave a Comment

Humans are always eager to find whether there is a life outside the planet Earth or not. It seems like our scientist of NASA are soon going to give a good news.

Recently, NASA has announced that they are incredibly close to discover more planets like Earth or signs of life in any one of the planets. In 2009, an astronaut John Grunsfeld said that it’s a dream to find out any planet similar to Earth. NASA’s task is to examine other planets and it starts step by step firstly, observing all the ground-based things and then comes the turn of space based things. They are looking into stars as well for a slight indication of human existence since several stars contain that liquid which is responsible for the living of human being. Matt Mountain stated that it is recently discovered that our galaxy has 100 million other planets.

He gave another good news that it is not yet an authentic statement but yes, they have found signs of life on one of the ice moons. As we all know that the tiny plants are more complicated to study since they shine quite brightly. Therefore, for the confirmation of this report they are planning to launch a which will help them out whether a star has that particular atmospheric gase or not. They are more enthusiastic to find that gas because it is an essential element for the creation of life in a planet.

Physics Constructal Law Describes Airplane Evolution

July 16, 2014 By Kenneth Scott Leave a Comment

The physics has the answer of the question, how airplanes evolved. According to a study conducted by Adrian Bejan, professor of mechanical engineering and materials science at Duke University ,a law of physics can describe the evolution of passenger airplanes from propeller-driven DC-3s of yore to today’s behemoth Boeing 787s. The law, has written down two decades ago, will also give insight to air plane companies how to improve their planes. It is certainly difficult mission to find out how the air planes have evolved since it took place in several life times. The exact answers to all these queries are in the constructal law that was developed by Began in 1996. It state that for a system to stay alive, it ought to develop its system.

The constructal law also showed principles of chief design features of an air craft, the engine mass has remained proportional to the body size, the wing size has been tied to the fuselage length, and the fuel load has grown in step with the total weight.

To put these theories of air plane design into operation, he made a panel with Jordan Charles, a researcher and development engineer, and Sylvie Lorente, a professor of civil engineering at the University of Toulouse, to make a successful commercial air plane. They planned thousands of statistics that included year of introduction, size, cruising speed, engine weight, fuel weight, range, wingspan and fuselage length, many patterns began to come into view.

A Ground Breaking Find in Paleontology

July 16, 2014 By Cristopher Hall Leave a Comment

The largest flying dinosaur has been discovered in northeastern China in the Liaoning Province. Its been given the name Changyuraptor. The discovery of the fossil was made in China and has wide spreading paleontological implications which we shall discuss later in this piece.

Paleontology

The flying dinosaur was four feet long and is believed to have weighed five pounds. Interestingly, the entire body of these avian beasts were covered with feathers and they have been estimated to have lived one-twenty five million years ago.

The Changyuraptor had four wings which provided it with greater stability and direction control in flight. The tails on these fascinating creatures is estimated to be twelve inches long. Paleontologists suggest that the presence of over-sized feathers which cover the entire body of the archaic animal may have had an important role in landing.

Moving on to the paleontological implications; this piece of information may be suggestive of a more profound conclusion. That dinosaurs took flight much earlier than the evolution of birds.

In fact, Alan Turner of Stony Brook University points out that there are a number of features that experts had long associated with birds which now seem to have evolved from dinosaurs much before the evolution of the birds, examples include; nesting behavior, hollow bones, feathers and now probably even flight!

A micro-analysis of the fossil revealed that the dinosaur must have been a fully grown adult because of which the size of the dinosaur can be generalized to the average adult of the ancient dinosaur.

This amazing discovery is also indicative of the fact that flight was not restricted to smaller animals and even dinosaurs as big as the Changyuraptor experienced flight. Perhaps even larger flying dinosaurs existed millions of years ago?

Birds can now almost conclusively be called the descendants of dinosaurs but far more evidence is needed to completely understand the degree, detail and dynamics of dinosaur flight.

AT&T launches Amazon Fire Phone in market for $200

July 16, 2014 By Deborah Campbell Leave a Comment

The ‘Fire’ phone – Amazon’s newest unveiling and first foray into the smart phone market – has seen its launch, and, currently, AT&T have the exclusive rights to sell the phone. The unveiling took place on July 25, where AT&T announced two deals which can be taken advantage of alongside the purchase of the new smart phone.

As AT&T have said, you can purchase the phone – which is available both online and in stores – as part of a two year contract for $200, or $27.09 a month for the next two years with their Next instalment plan. This plan has the phone locked as a 32GB handset. Alternatively, you can purchase the 64GB handset for $299 or $31.25 a month with AT&T Next.

Before its release, it was known as the 3D Phone because word on the street was that Amazon was implementing some sort of innovative 3D technology into the handset, although, as the new phone shows, this never materialized. The phone has also integrated five front cameras, four of which are used for the Dynamic Perspective.

Amazon has also noted that the phone has a 4.7-inch HD LCD display with 1,280-by-720 resolution at 315 pixels per inch as well as runnig a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Adreno 330 GPU, and 2GB of RAM. The company has also noted that the phone has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and records in 1080p at 30 fps from the front- and rear-facing shooters. Although the phone comes with all this integrated fairly well, it does not include a microSD card slot.

Amazon has also said that:

“Firefly lets you instantly discover helpful information on over 100 million movies, songs, and products. Simply press and hold the Firefly Button on the side of Fire Phone to quickly capture and launch Web addresses, send emails, or make phone calls without typing addresses or phone numbers.”

The phone received a three and a half stars out of five from PCMag, based on the features mentioned above, as well as how well these features were integrated.
