A Texas teen had his car stolen and trashed after responding to a roadside accident. According to the authorities, the victim of the road accident witnessed by the Texas teen bolted off from his vehicle and stole the teen’s car. The suspect was later found dead, and the car totaled.
Texas Teen Said There Were Three People Inside the Vehicle
Jerry Ramirez, a high school senior and Royse City resident, will think twice before leaving the keys inside his car. Last week, Ramirez and his friends were involved in a rather peculiar incident.
According to the Texas teen, he and his buddies were cruising along a Royse City road when they’ve discovered a crashed pickup truck. Ramirez told the authorities that he and his friends got out of the car to provide assistance to the driver and the vehicle’s occupants.
The Texas teen learned that, at one point, the car’s driver, which appeared to be intoxicated, lost control of the car which hit a guardrail. While Ramirez waited for the deputies to arrive, the pickup truck’s driver bolted from the seat, ran to Ramirez’s Chrysler 300 car and drove off.
According to a Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, the pickup truck’s driver, later identified as 29-year-old Delyn Stampf, led the authorities on a high-speed chase before disappearing.
Stampf was discovered several miles away after he crashed Ramirez’s car. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
All the pickup truck’s occupants were rushed to the hospital where they’ve received treatment for life-threatening injuries.
Conclusion
As for the Texas Teen, he’s now looking for a way to buy a new car, as his insurance doesn’t cover theft. The man even set up a GoFundMe account in an attempt to raise at least part of the sum needed to buy another car.
