E- Cigarettes – Blessing Or Curse?

An electronic cigarette is a battery powered device that produce smoke like the real cigarette but it is tobacco less device. It usually uses a heating element known as an atomizer that vaporizes a liquid solution. The liquid solution contains nicotine and some have various flavors.

The e-cigarette is developed by a Chinese Pharmacist who was a chain smoker but when his father; who is a heavy smoker died because of the black lungs he research and develop an e-cigarette.

It is clear that the only purpose of Chinese Pharmacist is to invent an alternative of tobacco cigarette and reduce the negative impacts of smoking. The purpose is to switch the smokers from traditional cigarettes to E-cigarette which is harm less.

But researches proof that this had not worked in the same direction. Companies introduced many variants of E-cigarette that attracts non-smokers but also the also attracts the kids.

The mouthwatering flavors such as, cookies and ice cream, gummy football candy etc. could easily attracts the kids and act as a gate way to encourage kids to become nicotine adductors.

There is no such law imposed till date that restricts sale of e-cigarettes to the kids, other than twenty states. As per a research, mostly hard smokers first tried the cigarette at a very young age.

As per a survey conducted for high school kids one of every tenth high school kid had tested a e-cigarette and according to the principal they have to dealt with at least one case every day.

Besides above concern about kids, doctors and consultants are not sure and can’t guarantee the level of “harmless” of these e-cigarettes. According to Erika Sward of American Lung Association, ‘So much is unknown about them and what the long-term complications could be with their use, Bottom line, we don’t know what the consequences of using them are, and we are very troubled that kids would find them attractive.”

However there is no evident of any bad-for-health thing in e-cigarettes but US Food and Drug Association did not like it at all. According to it, the e-cigarette is a power pack of toxic and harmful chemicals. So, the choice is yours.
