Seen videos of celebrities and random people soaking themselves wet from an ice bucket? Well, its called the ice bucket challenge. The man behind it is Pat Quinn, born and raised in Yonkers and diagnosed with a devastating neurological disease called ALS. Shortly after his diagnosis, he was overcome with purpose and felt that he had to make a change for all the ALS victims. The ice bucket challenge is a way to signify the support for ALS vicitms and everyone from Jimmy Fallon, Rob Astorino to Justin Timberlake are getting soaked for this cause. “I feel like its my purpose in life, its my mission, to be here to make a change”, Quinn said. Pat seems to think of it as a way to have fun, and create awareness for this devastating disease. Quinn has also created a foundation called “Quinn 4 the win” that has raised thousands of dollars for ALS research.
