Moto X 2014 VS Moto X 2013

Today Motorola announced four new devices and one of them is Moto X for 2014. According to the rumors, the company was planning to name this new product as Moto X +1 or Moto X2 but in the end they called it Moto X. People who want to purchase a new smartphone are quite perplex since currently the market is full of new phones.

Motorola surprised the entire smartphone market last year through the launch of an extremely impressive Moto X. This year the company is back again with a much larger, faster and better smartphone.

Last year Motorola took an extremely risky step and left the race of large screen smart phones. No doubt, that the new Moto X is better smartphone in every aspect and offers everything which a user wish to see in his smart phone. Nevertheless, it is still very difficult for buyers to choose any one of the devices. There are other reasons reason behind this confusion such as the release of various new smart phones like Samsung Galaxy S5, LG G3 and Sasmung Galaxy Note 4.

Display:

Motorola preferred a compact design and customization instead of running after the specs like other smart phone companies. Motorola offered their users, a small 4.7 inch 720 p HD display when the others were giving 1080p.

Although the company launched the new Moto X with a large screen and introduced it with sleek bezels and an almunium ring. This almunium ring which wraps around the new 5.2 –inch 1920 x 1080p full HD display. It has an AMOLED that provides vibrant colors and high quality saturation of images. The difference between the display screen size of new and previous Moto X is clearly evident even in pictures.

People who are annoyed by the large screen since it is a bit difficult to hold, then they can easily go for the smaller Moto X of last year. The two phones are pretty comfortable and painless to hold.

Design:

Both the phones are similar in terms of design except some from the addition of a few keys. Foremost, Motorola used an alumunium frame rather than the plastic one for the production of new Moto X. This major alteration makes the device more durable and better in appearance. Nonetheless, the back is still detachable so that the users can choose their favorite color of it.
There is a little modification in both the front and the back of the smart phone. As we have already stated the changes associated with display screen, but there are some other variations such as speaker grills and odd dots. These dots are in fact IR sensors to detect the presence of a human ear. In simple words, it will sense whether you want to use hands free or not.

Earlier, some leaks proposed that this time Motorola would provide a dual front facing speakers like HTC One M8. Unfortunately, there is only a single front speaker present in this new device. The top speaker is the earpiece and the bottom speaker is the single speaker grill. No doubt, the front speakers are loud and clear, unlike the other device which gives a mixed sound.

There is a gigantic logo of Motorola that is indented at the back of the smart phone. This time the company placed the power button at the back along with the logo. There is a weird ring present around the rear camera which is a “ring-flash” for the new Moto X. The product comes with a 13 Megapixel camera which promises excellent photography. Two LED flash sensors are also located with the high resolution camera which will ensure a soft and natural flash. Usually powerful flashes spoils the entire picture because of overexposure.

On the whole, the design is relatively improved as compared to the original Moto X. The curves of new Moto X give a wonderful feeling and is much easier to hold than the previous edition of Moto X.

The two phones can be considered as great smartphones, but obviously people want to have the best one in the hands. The new Moto X comes at a reasonable price and will be the best option for all the people who are anticipating for Android L . The price of two smartphones is nearly same, but obviously the new Moto X contains more specs and power. The company has released seventeen different plastic panels and four real wood panels which are bamboo, teak, walnut and ebony. As per the rumors, they are planning to make an addition of few more panels.
