Samsung’s effort to take over Indian and Russian smart phones market by developing smart phones based on their home ground operating software – Tizen.
The effort is to push the demand of smart phones and enhance the customer experience by introducing something new. Currently, the major chunk is with Android and Windows OS based smart phones.
To introduce and show case very first Tizen based smart phone, Samsung is planning to manage an event in Moscow in this month. “The launch in Russia would be presented at an ‘Unpacked’ event, similar to the format that Samsung uses to unveil its flagship devices,” said by company’s representator.
Surely the strategy is to differentiate and challenges Google who is currently the “King of the Castle” and of course also to create a distinct identity of Samsung.
To reduce the dependency on Google Android the step of introducing Tizen OS based smart phone is considering good for Samsung by the industry experts but the real thing will only be reveal by the passage of time.
According to Samsung, mobile phone uses based in India and Russia have no brand preferences and they would easily accept the Tizen smart phones backed by the brand power of Samsung.
