Reported by CNN – the great weight loss story of JonathonWalters who wear size 50 pants in High school and teased by the seniors because of his weight.
He recalls his dad’s saying when he decided to quit the school, “John, quitting is unlike anything else in life. It is only hard the first time you do it. After that it is habit and almost impossible to break”
He got the high school diploma but during the period he quit many schools and jobs because of the bullies and comments.
His father died on 6th May 2013, John said, “My world had collapsed’. After the death he quit the job and stayed at home avoid socializing and usually don’t speak to anyone other than his wife and kids. He starts gaining more and more weight.
Suddenly, the paradigm shifts on 18th July he woke up and decided that this is enough. “I was done quitting everything I started. I was going to not only lose the weight, I was going to obliterate it. I was going to stop giving up. I quit quitting.”
John visits the doctor and took his advice. He weighed 477 pounds, had high blood pressure and high cholesterol, as well as a severe fatty liver. He starts to walk and jog but he hardly take few steps and sit down to relax. But he did not quit because he knew this is just the initial difficulty and afterwards his life would change.
The man is now 270 pounds. According to his nurse Terri Hartman who is working on his diet plan she’s thrilled with his progress. Besides changing his own life, she’s seen his lifestyle changes inspire others, including his two sisters, to become healthy. Walters has found new strength and willpower, Hartman says — something that will aid him the rest of his life.
John created a Facebook page to motivate and guide the people having same weight problems. Now his mission is to change and embrace the lives of others.
