The retina display is 7.9 inches, the overall small size makes the iPad mini more portable. It comes with the same processor as the iPad Air and some models are able to connect to a 4G LTE network which facilitates extremely fast speeds of internet.

Nexus 7:
The Nexus 7 is also quite an impressive option, and it will save you some money compared to the Apple tablets. Nexus 8 is set to be released by the end of the year so this phone, in some ways still has the stage. It comes with a sleek black matte design that is both, desirable and ergonomic. Furthermore, it comes with a quad core processor, 2 GB RAM, a rear camera and Android’s latest operating system called Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat.

Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX:
Next up, is definitely Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX. It has a 7 inch display and is capable of competing with Nexus 7 and even the iPad mini retina display. Interestingly, it doesn’t use an Android OS but a rather modified version of Android which is connected with Amazon’s services. Oh and another attraction; it cheaper than the other tablets.

The Galaxy Tab S:
The Galaxy Tab S is also a contender on the list and why wouldn’t it be? It’s got an 8 inch screen with an astoundingly beautiful display, a great camera and it has the company’s Magazine UX instead of the Samsung Touchwiz, which is a significant improvement if you ask us.
