zocalo service by Amazon, will let you store documents and share services designed for enterprise now.
It launched its limited preview in the previous month. The costing for the same is $5 per month; end user can get 200 GB of storage. User can comment on files, send them to other users for assessment, upload new versions and more and that too with any platform/device whether it’s a PC, Macs, Android or iOS.
Amazon zocalo provides IT administrators to incorporate with existing corporate directories, audit logs. IT can execute the appropriate permissions for users, assuring the accessibility of specific files they are meant to see.
Amazon announced a 30-day free trial and this service is open to all AWS customers. zocalo’s goal is to reach the maximum big enterprise crowd, among which few of them still paying for legacy, on-premise solutions. zocalo is a potential competitor of cloud storage Dropbox which recently announced reduction in pricing and storage increment for its Pro customers. Even Dropbox is a competitor of other cloud storage services like Google Drive and Box.
But this is not the first cloud storage service introduced by Amazon; it has already made its marketplace previously with Amazon Cloud Drive which is a Google Drive competitor which is highly productive when integrated with the company’s own Fire phone (which is a big advantage). Fire phone users get unlimited photo storage for their smartphone photos in Cloud Drive.
zocalo also includes AWS Cloud Trails which is basically a web service tracking AWS API calls and sends log files to you. CloudTrail will track all the calls made with zocalo API, which is by default internal but there is a probability that it will be made public in near future declared by Amazon.
