U.S Department of Energy’s Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory executed a unique experiment. The scientists have invented a Holometer which is the most sensitive instrument to assess the quantum jitter of space.
The machine begins to accumulate the data which will resolve some tricky question linked with the universe, such as whether we live in a hologram.
The information regarding the Universe is determined in tiny packets in two dimensions. If we look closely to our T.V screens, then we will see small pixels. In the same way scientist believes that the information associated with the Universe is also comes in pixels. The experts consider natural “pixel size” is nearly of 10 trillion trillion times tinner as compared to an atom. This distance is generally known as “ Plank scale” among the scientists.
Craig Hogan, director of Fermilab’s Center for Particle Astrophysics stated that researchers wish to know whether the space time is a quantum system like matter or not. If scientists discover anything similar to it, then the entire notion of space will change in an instant.
Quantum Theory proposed that it is out of the question to know about accurate location and speed of subatomic particles. If space is formed by 2-D bits with incomplete information about the exact position of objects, then space would come into the same category of uncertainty.
Basically, the experiment investigates the limits of the universe that how much information it can store.
